Some more progress on the boat's hull. A top view of the boat was sketched and preparation before paint starts. Since I will be using a House of Kolor Kandy paint the hull needs to be coated with a black base first.Attached Files- Aspect 2012 Project_ Black base before paint1.jpg (70.5 KB, 67 views)

In this stage the HOK Kandy color coat has been applied over the black base and paint scheme is being executed per scheme B. After lime/gold Kandy color cures an intercoat of clear paint will be applied as a protective coat before the paint job gets finished off with pinstriping.Last edited by gyrotron; 01-04-2013, 03:28 PM.

Protective intercoat has been applied. Boat has been sent for pinstripping. I'll post pictures when the job is done.

Clear coat has been applied for a total of 5 coats. All colors have come alive, shine and depth to the finish has been added.Last edited by gyrotron; 01-19-2013, 07:12 PM.

Damn she looks great. The only thing I would maybe change a little is the deck support pice. The littke pice on top that rests under the deck is rather small. I am afraid that in a blow over too much force will be concetrated to that one littke area. This will most likely lead to some kind of fracturing/splitting. I would make the piece of wood span across almost the entire underside of deck. I made a bulkhead in my df-41 that closes the entire front off from top to bottom. Its adds as very good floatation being air tite. As well as adding a lot of strength. I also placed some cut to fit foam blicks up there for added flotation. I have crashed this hull at over 80 mph with no problems at all.my youtube videos http://www.youtube.com/user/chris81983?feature=mhee

I will post a few pictures later I am working at the moment. I didn't start a build thread here on ose. Basically all it is is a 1/4 inch marine grade plywood cut the exact shape of the entire front of hull. I then notched two groves in it to fit over the stringers and glued in place. After it all dried I then put a thin bead of marine silicon around the entire bulkhead. Oh and before gluing in I cut a foam body board up and placed it in the front before gluing un bulkhead.my youtube videos http://www.youtube.com/user/chris81983?feature=mhee

The prop in the picture is only a place holder. I'll leave the required gap when I install the appropriate prop. I have a CNC 52mm 3 blade prop which will be the first one I'll be using and then I'll be moving up in size until I find the right one.Originally posted by iamandrew View PostI cant see any gap from your strut to your prop.... :PLast edited by gyrotron; 01-23-2013, 10:02 PM.
