Tom, it looks real good as usual.

Any ideas yet on prop and batteries for the KB8XL?

Douggie I am looking into the 26650P's for this boat. When the new ones come in I will make my move. I am going to running 5s-2p @ 5000mah total. If it works out as planned I will only need a single set with the quicker recharge times. I will attempt to swing a K42 for the first test. CNC props for both boats over the summer .

PS Tommy hang on to your convictions. It will work out .

I managed a little time for the SW today. My Mount from JimW arived last week. I had to flip one side in order to get the alinment. The motor still has to be spun in order to run the cooling lines. I may get some time sunday to bolt it down and run some cooling lines. On a side note I'm debating removing one of the rudders. The extra weight nd drag may not be worth it.

Tom, leave as is, You were looking for a scale view and the twin rudders look great IMO.

Looking good! Ok so you're running the KD-45 8XL...
I still can't figure out from reading what ESC you have lined up...That "Shockwave 36 Electric conversion" board was showing the 10xl on 6s 5000mah with a pretty stout prop, and the hydra240. Is it safe to assume that if I run either the 11xl or the 10xl on the factory SW prop that I'll be well under the specified max current draw for the 240??? I'm not looking for a race boat at all...I obviously don't want to be slower than my nitro either...I'm just trying to figure out what the heck i need to order to convert over.
The only thing that I have managed to figure out is that the stock .32 produces roughly 3.2hp...so if we drop it down to 3hp and multiply that x's 746 = 2238watts and if we're running 6s lipo our fully loaded current draw would be roughly 90amps with the motor at max r's under 100% load...just about what steve said in his trial...so it looks to me mathmatically that the kd motor is an equivalent power source to the .32... I'm 75% convinced to just put in the order... Just want to make sure that the esc can handle it. Because i'm green to running lipo in boats, and I never really monitored the current, is it possible to see amp spikes over 100??? I guess an amp spike if the motor shorted for some strange reason there was enough static electricity charged from the hull friction would be the only method i could see to burning up the 240???
ya sorry for the over thinking...like i said just want to make sure that I'm spending my tax rebate correctly...

A proboat shockwave 36 converted to electric. A 14xl with 5s lipo. GPS at 29.3 mph.

                          That's pretty good for 5s...

Looks like you can spin the front mount 180 and have the bolts on top, I don't mean flip it, spin it.
                            Twin power =

I am using the HiModel 200amp esc good for 6s. The KB8xl is just for testing on 4s. In a few weeks I'll have the cash for 6s packs and then the 10XL will go in. Sorry for the delay with the info.

please...no worries...I just want to make sure that I do a decent setup...I don't want to spend 600 and then find out i didn't think of something... I like the mounts! U mill em yourself??? I think you have something by keeping the rear of the motor fixed as well...I was thinking i would tig something up out of .125" Al but i like supporting it from the rear as u did... I'm gonna do the 10xl with the 240hydra...i have other castle stuff and the programmer so i'll try it out. do you think i really aught to worry about over pulling amps with the stock prop?
