Well I'm bored waiting for parts to arrive but maybe it's a good to focus on my design. I'm reconsidering my setup. Due to the COG location I think it's gonna be best to mount the motor as far up front as possible giving me plenty of room to mount the batts along the centerline behind the motor. I want to be able to run 6000mah to 10000mah and still be able to get the COG right. Here's a photo of what the final setup will look like with flotation and all.

    DSC02599.jpg

The steering servo, ESC, RX and RX batt will be mounted on the sides behind/under the pool noodle flotation so as to keep everything high and dry and clear of the drive line. This should make for a very clean looking interior

[QUOTE=Drax21;415684] Only water that comes in, is through the driveline but your oiler may work as a double function and stop the capillary effect. QUOTE]

That is another reason why I want to have a longer stuffing tube. It'll put the opening higher above the water line so there will be less negative pressure pushing water up the stuffing tube. Well I should get my hardware today I think. But then I'm waiting on my trim tabs. i can't move forward until I get all the transom hardware cuz it's gonna be a tight fit for sure.

I received my hardware today, but I'm still waiting on the trim tabs. I've started drawing up the hardware layout in CAD but I can't do much more without having the trim tabs in hand. Oh I think the turn fins might be a little too small for this hull. I'm running a mono without any turn fins right now and I don't have any issue so maybe they'll be fine.

Heres some more pics of the build. So far I've installed the thru hull water pickups (2), three water outlets, stuffing tube with oiler, stinger drive, motor mount, RX battery tray, main battery tray and the hatch locks.

            Coming nicely together!

I would not use the cowl locks, just tape down the hatch.
That way you are sure its waterproof.

More build progress. I've added the oiler filler dot, fabricated a Cap bank mount (still waiting on second cap bank) and installed my trim tabs. Here's some photos...........

Are those arrow shark trim tabs? If so what's the quality like? I fancy some on my big mono I am building, looking great by the way and some nice original features!

left turns may pose some difficulty, i would install at least the turnfin brackets that way u can easily throw on the fins in a matter a seconds at the lake if u find it unstable in turns. nice build i had the same hull and built my self

Yeah I came up with an idea of how I can fit some turn fins. The bracket will be mounted to the trim tabs instead of the transom. It'll put the fins closer to the apex of the vee so as to give me more fin in the water. Will also give me less holes in the transom i.e. less places for water to come in. I want to run it before I mount them. right now I have a mono I'm running with no fins and it handles fine. it does take a little more driving skill in the corners but I have the pratice, we'll see. just waiting on my FC 8S 300amp ESC and it'll be in the water. can't wait.

                        Matt,

The quality looks to be pretty good. I did have a problem with the set screws on the trim rams two of tehm were really hard to get out and one of them stripped the threads. I had to drill and retap on the other side to make the ram work. but I'm working with arrow shark and i think they may replace the ram for me. I hope so. when you spend $80 on a set of trim tabs they should be 100%

Thanks, I am interested to see how you mount the turn fins as I am want turn fins but don't want to spend $80 on trim tabs and not have room for the fins!

The OSE store also has cnc trim tabs which look nice and chunky but I like the twin ram look but only if the quality is good
