The 2nd one has replaceable inserts but the first looks up to the job more.

Pitch ratio x diam = pitch, it should be either 1.4 ratio or 1.6 ratio.

I think its a X652 in octura terms. There are no marking on the bottom of the prop. Should I give this prop a try or just sell it on and get the X460?

5.5's are big enough on the batt sides since you will have two each running into the connector.................5.5 x 2 = 11mm, thats basically what you'll have.

Thanks for the info on your 10s set-up, I'm thinking I will run 5.5mm through all the batts into the esc and have them kintec anti-spark things on there, then 8mm from the motor to the esc. Does that sound alright or is 5.5mm too small for the batts into the esc?

On another note, here is the prop. It looked bigger when it was on the 3/16 flex.
My guess is it is a ABC. The diameter is 52mm. Can't remember how I get the pitch again.

The capacitors on the parallel connectors are to help with the spark stressing the esc? or do you use something else.

Nope, i just had an extra cap bank and threw it on, probably doesnt need it, I'm running a Castle 1717 off of it but it never hurts.

I dont use spark resistors. On my big 10s boats i just plug 'em in and.........."POP"................... , hasnt hurt anything in many runs.

On one ESC i decided to just solder the 5.5's straight to the ESC batt leads and eliminate the extra connection.

Use either Zpoxy finishing resin or West systems resin, both very good resins.

I went with another members advise on the motor placement in the Insane. My batts go right up against the motor in the bottom of the vee. Just lay all your components out after all the hardware is bolted on and flotation in the bow, then see where the COG is.
I run 6s set ups in all my boats. Ive always used 8mm bullets on the batteries and 5.5mm on the motor, but now I use the 8's all the way around.

Another question... I know I will need a spark eliminator or something along them lines.
I see Kintec has one on their main page. Can I have 5.5mm connectors through an 8s set-up? 8mm between esc and motor though.

Drax, I used finishing resin with my cloth. Turned out great. I wouldnt use regular epoxy. See pics in my "Larrys Insane 34" build thread.

Looks a good job Larry. I notice you put the motor right at the back = power to prop right?. Where did you place the batts to get the right balance. I want to have my motor in this hull close to the back.
