Norwegian CF daytona!

Yeah another Daytona build thread! I just love the looks of this hull. Got to get it. I´m new to FE boats so its a bit of steep learning curve. Benjamin at Fightercat has been very helpful to all my stupid questions.

I bought these carbonsheets from hobbyking that is a drop in fit on top of the tunnel in the Daytona. It leaves me with a bit of space underneath to hide servoleads/coolinglines and other stuff. I like a clean look. So when I´m done I hope I manage to get all the unnecessery stuff hidden away. I made the servo mount from carbon sheet and some square carbon tube. It´s a low profile servo. Some of it is underneath the sheet. I prettymuch have everything I need to the boat. I´m waiting on some screews and stuff still.

nice looking setup.. i too also like the clean install. Mine shows up next week, then i get to start building. Keep us informed on how it goes.

Looks good. What motors and cell count are you going to run?

Going to run 8s. Motors are leopard 4074 1050kv, so not to wild on kv, but I hope it will run good! :)

Didn´t get done so much today. Epoxied in some carbon plates where the stinger and rudder mounts. Not much to take pictures of. But nontheless very important. The mounts will be rock solid ones the epoxy sets.

You can fit 4074's with water jackets in there???????

Hehe yeah just barely :D It will be interesting to see everything fitted with waterlines. I just now test fitted the stuffing tube and there will be some mm of clearance. I of course have to angle the motors as much as I can :)

1050kv you can use 10s no problem..

a mate runs leopard 4082 2200kv x2 turnigy 180amp esc x 2 x442 L/R on hpr 115 mystic cat twin. at 6 cell lipo
thats 48000rpm

1050kv x 37volt 10s is only 38800rpm

you can also run 12s....

Okay, I´m not totally into everything regarding kv and rpm´s :) You realize I use Turnigy 80a Hv Esc? Wouldn´t I need a bigger Esc?
I use 4s batteries in my Miss geico. So would like to use those in series to get 8s.

Should I put the Esc first and then the motor in the cooling line or the opposite?

Hi! I´m from Sweden and into this for a couple of years, started with a 1/10 hydro (http://www.rumrunnerracing.com/fefor...t=Shanty-1)and built some more boats after that. You will draw less Amp with higher volt, but you have to use tne right prop. Higher rpm=smaller prop. Good luck with your building.

I would definitely start with X442, maybe even a little less. Use plastic propellers to try things out.
