The esc I ordered from HobbyKing is at least 60-90 days back ordered-

    Any other recommendations??

Do I really need a 120 amp esc???

    BEC is necessary.

Are Seaking ESC any good--could I use this ???

Also-what's this about programming? --It looks like this is set up for "forward only as the default--how do I get reverse added?

Can anyone tell me plug style on this thing??

From same web site, what would be a good brushless motor for a 24" boat--

Seaking is the same as turnigy marine if I got this right.

No idea of programming, but should be easy so learn to do. Usually no plugs from factory, you need to solder your own(5.5mm bullet connector is good)

motor/esc it depends ...-speed or runtime? lipos/nimh?

for 24" boat 3650 size should be good, about 1500kv and 3-4s lipos? -or nimh...2x6cell ? I could not find any motor from that site that I have used or know anything about, sorry.

          lipo

          http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=11182

will be using this motor and the seaking 60 amp marine escape

Please educate me on lipo batteries--

What is advantge of lipo--it seems they generate better power but wonder about the details.

what does th s rating mean-

what does the c rating mean (20C, 30c 40c etc.)

What would be a good batterie for this combo?

Can I get a single battery to do the trick or do I need 2 batts in series??

If I need two batts do I need tomake a harnes to get them in series??

How do I calculate amps ?
Am making progress on this boat-will post pics soon. Will probably start with nimh batts for test purposed but will probably graduate to lipo depending on answers

            Gettin' confused here.................i keep seeing mention of 20" and 24" boats.........is this a 32" .......???????

I dont recommend a 60a ESC for that motor..................

            This is the Turnigy/Seaking 120a........in stock.......... http://www.nitrorcx.com/07e-c-seaking-120a.html

You need 30c minimum with lipos, preferrably 4000+ mah as well.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

Make a wake- yeah, it is the dumas offshoe 40--32 inch.

Whats the problem with this combo--overheat? blow up?

What happens if I use this esc with 2 nimh in series????

How do I calculate amps generated so I pick the correct esc??

                dumas deepvee 40

See pics attatched--need to fill and sand a bit more, then resin and prime exterior then more sanding.

As suggested by all above have ordered 120A seaking esc from Hobbypartz.

From this website what would be good brushless motor for 25 inch dumas skidaddletoo, and could use 60 amp esc.

                Thanks, BillDSCF1319.jpgDSCF1317.jpgDSCF1316.jpg

You can run two six or seven cell nimh's, but that motor wants more amps than a good nimh can provide.............nimh's put out in to 40a range for good ones, this will strain them and get them very hot. I'd go with a couple lipo's, these are a bargain and should provide all the amps you need at 125a constant, US warehouse too, 3 days to your door and 7-8 bucks shipping for priority.
