Thanks Ray, I am running a new setup to handle the current power for better ballance and handling we not longer use the K&B out drive. Now it is the Hyperformance Bullet drive that I machine to lower the motor's CG.

You will not be getting rid of the SC33 I bet! I love mine a blast to drive! Mine is getting a face lift (new Paint)

Looks awesome Randy! This boat is a true winner. BTW: You are correct, the SC33 is definetely a "keeper." Its my favorite boat out of many! Your work is so solid that I have no doubt that it will last forever. Thanks bud!

          Outboard Water Cooling

          Randy:

You are almost there. All you need to do now is throw away your cooing jacket, route the water cooling line coming from your esc to dump water into the top of the motor, and drill a couple of drain holes in the OB motor mount area so the motor can drain.

Why? To reduce weight, lower the center of gravity, reduce cost and most importantly COOL THE MAGNETS which a cooling jacket cannot do! Then the motor can take more power without overheating.

I see that you already know that the motor and coupling do not need to be protected from the water, so just give this a try. You will be happy you did. Just use a squirt of Corrosion X after each run.

I know this seems outrageous, but it works well and I use a 500 size 20 dollar helicopter motor to push a 6 pound mono 55 mph. Look at the discussions in:

            Hi Dave
Interesting idea the only thing is that worries me is the corrosion to the magnets lots of ponds have coloring and other chemicals in them and water is a base solvent. CorrosionX is necessary tool for OPC's. I will read more in your thread I read about 1/2 of it.
