I got some big caps no spark resistors and hooked them up with the connectors thanks to Ben at Fightercat. All of the esc's initialized and now I am going to start sealing up the box.

The old esc that I put in oil seems to not have changed in any way after 5 days. So I am very optimistic about the entire thing right now. All I have left now is some hardware and servo mounting stuff and that is the easiest part! I will hopefully get it in the water this weekend but probably not until the next weekend since the lakehouse is getting resided this weekend.

If this goes well I am going to change from a gear drive in my 47incher to inline motors and trade the 100amp castle esc's I have in there for some 80amp hv's. ( I have the 880kv T600 in that boat.) And I am thinking two at full power will perform close to the same as a Leo5692.

Thanks again Peter! It keeps me interested in building.
I haven't been this excited for a boat since I got my Villain when I was 10.

I have been thinking about what to do with water-cooling, there are 4 motors and 2 esc tubes to cool. I initially thought of having 2 pickups (one for two motors each) plus one from the rudder (for the esc's). Instead I am thinking of doing something kinda different and simple which would be very fitting for this boat.

I think I am going to use a pretty large piece of k&s tubing for the water pickup and then split it into 4 different streams for each motor. This large tubing would allow for more waterflow but make it look a little less cluttered at the transom and then the water pickup in the rudder to cool the esc box. Then I would take an even larger piece of tubing and have a large water outlet and make it look like an exaust pipe out the back of the transom.

Hahah yea! It only has to look good untill I am done with the build then it can get ugly because no one will see it up close!
And here is the box with the acrylic! I need to trim it a little and get some RTV silicone to seal it up tomorrow!

Everything is completed other than the steering part of the boat (mounting the rudder and stearing servo) and the box being sealed. I went ahead and added two inlet/outlets on the top of the acrylic for the box so there will be a place to add or remove oil or a place for the oil to expand to when it gets warmer.

On a different note, while working with ways to collect regenerative power from beaking electric actuator motors where I work, We came up with an idea on how to make a lightweight and simple electrical storage system that I want to apply to boats that would cause a type of "Electrical NOS" for saw boats. In short, it would allow a boat running on 2s and 200amps to deliver 3 times the power to the motor for about 3 seconds and only add about 180 grams to the boat.

I am not 100% sure I am allowed to say the details since it is for the government and may be part of the F35 eventually. But I can say it is a similar concept to how F1 cars use breaking to spin flywheels that they use for acceleration after they make a turn but it is done electrically and is much lighter. I think Porshe is comming out with something similar for their production cars that would allow an extra 100hp or so for a short (10 second?) period of time for acceleration.
But since it is electrical and no flywheel is involved you can have the extra power for a long period of time. And it would be "pre-charged" for use in a boat since it would be hard to get regeneration from a propeller.

So it's one time and then recharges, I'm sure it could be integrated into the shaft somehow.

WELLLLLL The motors and esc's are in the boat and if if were any tighter I would have to scrap the esc box! They are programed and set up to all spin the same direction. The rudder is on and now I am waiting on the radio I recently ordered. I decided to switch from all my 400 individual radios laying around to a fancy pants one with a 10 model memory.
