This is gonna be sick, and sound great too!
What prop are you running? an X93748390?
Hahahahaha!!! Thanks! I think I am just gonna start with a k57 or k60, these motors have gone ~60mph with 45mm props on 6s in smaller boats so I don't wanna buy and balance a metal one untill I get a good idea of speed and temps. And if I get all the way to 65mm+ range I have some gasser props I can use.
With how well the motor(s) turned out I want to just not sleep one night and finish the entire thing!
Trust me, i've been through that, not being able to sleep, thinking of something you know you will have forgotten to do by morning. But 65 might be a little small for all that torque (13HP)

Haha yea but i don't know if the hull can hold up if it breaks the sound barrier!

Here are the motor mount side plates. These will be bolted to the rails with two 1/4" threaded rods, on in the front and one in the back. The motors make the hull look kinda small!
Yupp, I think the rails in the boat will break before the mount does!
The esc's will be right on top of the motors and mounted side by side in an aluminum box, the batt's will go on the sides of the rials like the first pic in the thread and there will be 6s1p per motor, so 6s4p total of 40c 5Ah Zippy's.
I am also going to make a tray for the GPS for the rectangular cutout in the front part the the hull opening and have an thick acrylic hatch so I won't have to take off the hatch to see the speed and I will be able to see if anything is going wrong inside the boat.
I am getting pretty pumped but making sure I get everything right and take my time and I think I have everything I need to finish the boat and I have a little over $400 in the entire boat if you don't count the batt's.
wekk, with Zippy's, you aren't spending 150$ a pack, *4 that would be LOTS of money. the zippy's should hold up seeing as the load will be divided, put some 65C packs in there, LOL. this will sound so nice, timing may be an issue getting all those motors to spin at the same speed, i'd start with a high timing (15*) so the ESC can keep up with those OR's

I thought the same thing with the 65C batt's! I would love to splurge and get a couple 6s packs so it would be under 10,000mah and leagal for a NAMBA SAW.
And I am planning on 30* and 16khz for the esc's to start out with.
So 6s1p per motor should be plenty being the amp load is shared by 4
and the sound should be sick!
Thanks man! I am pretty curious about the sound too. I am guessing it will be like a single but just realllly loud since they all tick over at the same time!
Well my plans for the esc box have changed for the sake of time and safety. The all aluminum would be more likely to short two wires and take a while to weld up. So I am using wood for the sides and aluminum for the bottom and using aluminum solder to connect cooling tubes to the bottom. It will be 4.5in x 2in x 8in and the connectors for the esc's will be epoxied to holes in the wood so it will look a lot cleaner as well.
I keep going over prop size calculations using torque and power and rpms and if torque increases linearly (I am guessing it doesn't) with prop size I might need an 80mm prop to get above 12kw. So I might need to make a 1/4in outdrive as well as a 3/16in one later on when I push it. LOL
