Thanks Larry. I wouldnt be all that concerned until I run it, but I am going to powdercoat teh rudder to match the rest of the outer hardware on my boat and dont want to have to weld/grind on it after that. I think it will be fine though

Made up a battery mount for my Rocket today. will post more pics soon.

You can also shorten up the stinger. I ran a strut on mine with a wet well and it put the prop a bit closer than your stingers will to the transom.
Like you said though, run em first.

Battery mount is in. Using a single strap but it gets pretty tight, and is easily replaced if it breaks. Obviously there was a concern of lipo/outrunner contact, but it should be taken care of with this mount.
I'm at about 35% COG with the battery in ,but I still have to add servo and mount, rx, cooling lines, and prop. I should be at 30% or less when its all said and done with the ability to move the battery up if needed.

what motor is that in your boat? i read it was a 2200kv motor, who puts it out? how long is your boat 40 or so and what kind of speeds are you hoping to get out of your motor set up? hope you dont mind the questions, i'm repowering a 43 thundr tiger and im following your build and Brushless55's build to get idea's of power plants to get mine in the mid to upper 40's mark. thanks

Start a new thread. This motor is much better for a 40" boat: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=11980
              Solid motors
Use 5S1P or 5S2P your choice for longer run time with a K51 carbon or m448 prop, T180 esc.

The motor is made by suppo, you can buy them at Fightercatracing.com. It's small for a 40" boat though. This boat is only 26". I am building a 50" boat right now, though I havent updated the thread much lately. My other two builds have been taking what little time I have. Here is the 50" mono if you want to check it out:

Great build. I bought one of these used from Blackcat. It runs awesome!! I tired it first with a 3424 1800kv castle motor and then put in a 3556 2600kv motor on 4s using 2, 2S packs on the sides of the boat. It was insane!! I may try a single pack like you later on, but I think I like the outrunner in this boat. Long run times, decent speeds and the ability to prop it high if necessary.

Here is a short video of it with the 2600kv motor. It was hard to get a full WOT run, lol.
