Congratulation. That's a great video of the maiden.

This boat reminds me a lot of my big Apache gasser. They do run similar and can take some chop.

Those outrunners are simply impressive to push such a large hull.

yep. Just installed the struts today ,pics sunday at the latest.

Sadly the place where I build this is used by others also and ... yes, fingerprints and small paint chip on the hull

Tomorrow I´ll wetsand it a bit and I hope it wont look that bad after a good polish.

I did modify stuff also, the motors have "protective fences" around them so nothing can hit the spinning motors and the battery straps are re-designed and I used much stronger velcro. Maybe I will install the battery trays if this wont hold the batteries.

I also drilled the stuffing tube holes to 10mm on transom and siliconed the tubes to the center so the strut adjustments are easy to do now.


I will borrow the prop balancer from a friend tomorrow so this really looks like it will be rtr for the weekend

Moved the boat back to home, it was damaged more each day at the garage

Few pics, more when I get ´er to water.

I polished the fingerprints off, but the red turned a bit light where I did that... a bit too fast buffer speed for my hands to keep it moving... but I guess it is not that bad.

The paint chips are not touched up yet.

Moved the water intake/outlet location, installed the antenna/rx in the stig and made holes to hatch so it can be bolted on.(bolts are bolted to the hull upside down, and wingnuts secure the hatch. Will get some self adhesive rubber window seal and hope that seals the hatch well.


Will get the balancer later today.

Boat looks really good m8,pitty they damaged it.Should be ok once touched up and cleared.I like the idea of the waterline it looks cool.For sealing the hatch you could maybe install a sub hatch? maybe use clear lexan sheet taped down using double sided tape than install the main hatch over this?.These boats take some flipping but it does happen from time to time .

I was looking at the pics of your strut and noticed you have a few degrees of negative angle on them.Id level them up and im sure you will gain even more speed .

Hi Mart, the srtuts are just bolted on the transom and I have not yet adjusted them.

But good eyes! The props are really sharp now and cant wait to test them.

Yea im looking forward to seeing the next video with the new props etc.
On a side not im thinking of making some Battery trays from glass and maybe carbon eventually,any ideas for the design that you know works?.I could then send you a set once i get some made,first ill make the glass sheet to cut them from and go from there.

Trays are a good idea Mart!

Just make sure that the batts can be held down on the sides and front/back so they wont move. OSE shop has some trays, http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80175

I have never used any ,only velcro strap so far. I do like the idea of the lipos sitting a bit higher so if some water gets in the hull then the batts wont be swimming.

I would suggest that you make them a bit larger then needed (or single ones and for dual packs also), if one would like to mout batts in front of the motors instead of the sides.

6s packs weight about a kilo so large gluing surface is also a good idea.

The way they will be mounted in the hull the straps will pass underneath the tray front and back and i was thinking of making cutouts in the side of the tray for each strap so they cant slide front and back i would maybe use plywood blocks to glue them to the hull to give a good gluing surface.Good thing is i could custom make them any size to suit whatever batterys people want to use.Glass sheet or carbon x glass is easy enough to cut to any size.They could be mounted singly either side of the motor etc or mounted in the centre butted together in the keel area if prefered.

Mart, that is a good idea, would like to try a set when you finish them.

Just tested the 55mm props and I dont understand... -dry tested the boat and both motors worked but when the boat hit the water only right side motor worked. Got it back to shore to check and everything worked again. Launched it again and yup... no left motor I´ll try and swap the esc´s and try again if the left motor awakes and right stops then I need new esc. I really doubt that this is the case cause these have worked well on my other builds.

Also the hobbyking 2.4g radio has 10 meter range on this boat even if the antenna is outside the hull! it works well on other boats so maybe the carbon hull and outrunner static is interferiencing(spelling?) .

I had to use my Sanwa to solve this.

It sounds like there is something wrong with the lvc. That is what my first brushless boat did back when I was still running nihm cells and the voltage dropped under load. That might have been what went bad when you had that puff of smoke you talked about before.
