Glad you found these friendly forums Mart!

Cant wait to see her and the Stigs live!

ot:my last 3 builds combined were cheaper then what I have paid for this so far -but it will be the nicest and something to be proud when finished.

Just hoping I can afford stronger motors and esc´s some day.

Hi im not familiar with electrics but with our gas motors we use props arround 67-75 mm.What sort of speeds are you hoping for with your setup ? and do you think the smaller props will get the hull going ?.As i say im not experienced with leccy powerd boats so im hoping to learn something and perhaps build one eventually, but think ill go with a single motor any suggestions will be welcome.Whats the reason you went with twins rather than one big motor, sory for all the questions just trying to learn something lol.

Hi Mart, the reason I went with 2 motor setup was to try something new.

I have build many fast single motor boats that are fast, but only few minutes of driving until packs were empty.

Last summer I built the hk princess that I made more scale then speed and it had about an hour of driving time on single pack.

This time I´ll try to get good scale speed and long run times.

What I gathered this should be 30mph easily but I guess that there is not that many boats setup like this so idk what to expect.

I have no idea of correct prop size, but 2 motors should be able to turn larger props then 1 motor. I guess I´ll start somewhere about 55mm and go from there.

the motor turns 19500rpms unloaded on 22.2v (6s lipo) ,gas is about the same?

If I can afford I+ll change the motors to leopard 5500w versions and then it should fly. -but first tests will have these inexpensive outrunners just to see what they do.

For single motor setu there is that huge castle creations 10hp motor but that is another story...

Oh, and the hardware I ordered...looked the traking code and it was delivered today... -BUT NOT TO ME! -now the shipping company is checking who has it...dam this is making me angry 450€ worth of aluminium...

I would say my modded zen was spinning arround 17-18k but i never checked that.Speed in my hull was arround 50mph with a 6717/3 prop but still more to come ,motor has arround 6.5 hp if that helps you any.
Sory to hear about your hardware going missing sureley they will find it,the person must have had to sign for it sureley?.Hope it turns up soon m8.
I must say i am keen to try an electric build at some point,if i can do it for a similar cost of a gas build id be happy ,all out speed isnt as important as runtimes and scale speeds but i would like it to do at least 40 mph iff possible.
Anyway dont want to hijack your thread ,good luck with your build and hopefully you will have everything with you soon .

Yeah I hope that they sort the package thing out soon... -I called the shipping company and they told me that it has been signed and delivired. when I told her that yes, I can see that on tracking page but I did not receive it so who has it? Then she was like..."umm I´ll figure it out and let you know asap" -that was whole day a go and still no call

Mart, no worries ask a way and I dont mind if some1 else replies to you eighter if they can help you.

And the 2 motors combined with 22v should output about that 6hp so idk, this could be faster then I planned. (about 3KW per motor if I calculated this right)

Smaller dia but more pitch props and it should move.

The motors and speedos arrived today.

They were bigger then I thought but still they are going to look tiny in that large hull.

THe lenght is about the same as 540L size but there is much more power in these then feigao L cans...massive torq.

Tested them 2 and 3s ... -massive torque these motors punch! -and off throttle they keep spinning for a while so there is somekind of "flywheel" effect on these outrunners, that could mean that they can turn quite a big prop!

While holding the first motor and pulling the throttle trigger I found why these are called outrunners thought that only the center piece turns but only the front end bell is not a moving part. (see, I do learn something every day)

Still no info of that missing 450€ package...

                          A BIG UPDATE

Mart´s hull just found it´s way here!

It really is a big step up(not just size) from promise/horr hulls I thought were good. -this has great finish and the colors are great ! -it looks perfect to me.

Mart ,you really know how to build these hulls.

And this is so huge that I really needed to think how to transport it from post office to home in my e36 coupe.

This is so massive that the large outrunners look TINY!

And to the hardware... the seller has contacted the local shipper so they are working it I guess. The person who stole this has done it again and again.. -and the police catched him last week. He does not have the parts anymore so this could get weirder.

But the hull and electrics are here so after the hw issue is solved I can start!

The BR and AA battery for size comparison (the tv on top is 42")

What are you using for motor mounts are you making your own? and will you be water cooling the motors and esc?.Any news about your hardware yet.

                                Nothing new on the hw...

I will do my own mounts or use these http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=ose-drmount

What ever I do the mount will have 25 and 30mm bolt pattern to accommodate larger motors later on.

The esc´s are watercooled and I dont think that the outrunners require watercooling.
