Definitely!! that is super cool! I would like to use more of those types, big and wide - looks like good quality. Thanks for throwing that in, very useful bonus!Originally posted by crrcboatz View PostJesse, see you got the boat and in good shape. Will you use the rudder system I sent you on anything?

foam!!!
filled the bow with 4lb foam and fiberglassed the rear - we now have one very rigid hull. I still want to reinforce the sides and more of the hatch, but getting there. You can almost pound nails with her now.... not that I'm gonna demonstrate.

here are the staggered motors:

and next to each other with mounts:

Jay, is this yours? I notice the props spin outward (unlike many cats) is this to reduce the splash on the rudder? or some other reason?
that looks pretty serious... I like mucho. Do you have any more shots?

That is a German build.
The drives are from Werner Dieckmann indeed.

Wow!! that is gorgeous! and in theme with the Lucas team. I may have seen that on a Youtube, but might be confused.
Thanks Dom, stay tuned I got some more hardware in yesterday and am playing with strut layout. Steve's new push-pull style cat rudder is super cool and looks good. Pics coming."Look good doin' it"

ponds have melted.....
Got inspired on boats again.
Had to make subtle S curve, flex still turns most smoothly. Mount is GORGEOUS work of Rearwheelin' - finally some press for the kind man. I like how the ESCs tuck up against the mount (thanks again Steve for helpin me out on these replacements).

I have option of batteries along side all the way up to the mount and/or in the center - what a fart smeller I am.
Slapped a pair of SV drives on there - will either grind off taper or flip one so they slightly point inward - anybody got an objection to that? I will be making my own bushings - probably be a double bushing to get down to 3/16".

If the drives look a little crooked... they are. the mounts are a little off, but the drives are actually the same height. They are angled a little because the first one came out tipped out so I mirrored it. If it becomes an issue, I can work on straightening the mounts later. Now its time to get her WET!!!
waiting on one stub, trim tabs and turn fins and she should be chasin' geese this weekend."Look good doin' it"
