Another Jesse J twin mono: Hopf Cyklon

Thanks to Jeroen, for the info on this hull.

I just picked this up and am pretty psyched to get her started.

I was poking around about this hull and came up with some pretty cool stuff. There is a guy who put one together as twin... really cool. He had his struts staggard, like this below Here is the build thread... and This was the store site these seem like REALLY good prices??

More to come after hull arrives.

for motors... I was gonna go Proboats, but then I saw "pair of Suppo 3126 1600kv" in swapshop... I wonder how these would do?

I would kinda like to get close to 2000KV so I am not lugging around a pair of 6S 5000mah packs to get my speeds. The Triton does great on 3000KV Feigao Ls on 3S, maybe just a touch lower KV and 4S? ... tight on funds now, so might have to start with the Proboat motors.

Use my outrunners Jesse! You only need a pair of 3s don't need a pair of 6s.

I am thinking this paint scheme. before long I will have all the P1 teams in my garage!

I might need to make me up a second cowl to match the Lucas boys

I'll be sure to add some EXTRA flotation, cause we don't want any

I was looking at the twin build thread you posted. Do you think his drives are a little too high?

That hull looks like one I sold on the swap shop a couple of years back. Nice looking, but very skinny.

Actually, they are probably about right. On my Triton twin, I may have them a little low - the thing is probably a little too high and dry at WOT. I will probably try his placement as well to try and settle it down in a little more.

Steven, I am not aware of the hull you sold, this is 34" x 8" wide. Cigarette ALLLLLLLLLL the way baby!! The Triton is 31 x 9.5 - and alllllmost looks too wide. This is why I like the idea of outrunner motors - no cooling can to space them out farther. A cooling mount will be in order for sure, but I don't foresee much of an issue - also since ORs can handle more heat. Maybe some fan contraption ??

big box on the porch day

                              HA

she is here. Very nice hull, great color, gel is 99% perfect (couple places where the gel didn't make it, but nothing serious) very crisp lines and super light.

Gonna get some 2 part foam in the bow to stiffen and provide flotation.

another layer of CF or FG in the rest - yep all around. This thing needs to be bullet proof. gonna get a ply transom and overhang "shelf" and probably upper transom.

Gonna run twin SV27 stingers (black) and below rudder mounted on the upper transom. My thinking is that she will want to run on the step and the props... not even touching rear of the step. Any thoughts on this?

twin out runners from Blackcat26 and a pair of swordfish 120s (thanks Steven!!!). Build will be similar to the Triton, but trim tabs will be invisible under the overhang.

Looking for speed on this (and handling). Probably gonna be the Lucas team.

The first shot is messy, but it looked like it was hitting a wave (of bills).
