so i got my ekos and pulled it out of the box i was very un impressed with the paint job, some lines werent perfect and the clear coat was iffy. knowing that some day i would completely repaint it, just did nt think it would be so soon... i hit something in the water and cracked the transome pretty bad check out the pics anyway i will post pics as i go, i plan on a motor swap and esc. let me know what you think

Nice job! Let me know if you need any help with the ekos. Ive been through a lot with mine and can give you some input on selecting motors/esc's if you'd like.

I got the ekos hull new which didnt look too bad. Your typical twist in it, but a little CF and epoxy should fix that. Gonna go with a single drive. I have a Neu 1515 1.5Y lying around. Gonna give that a shot. You gonna keep yours twin drive?

i am definetly gonna keep the twin drive, i know its double the problems sometimes but just the idea of 2 motors is just cooler to me i love the sound it makes and want it louder...haha... anyway i am thinking of the Feigao 380 9xl s and the turnigy 120s...i like the idea of being able to run 5s but staying on 4s and having a fun fast reliable boat

Forescott does and I did run Feigao 380 9xl's in our EKOS on 4s.What a blast.I wouldnt reccomend 5s.Two 4s packs plus all the twin stuff is very heavy.Id get the 9 xl's.Run Venom 36mm props for low to mid 50's and cool temps.Kintec has 38mm props that ll get you low to mid 60's and still cool temps.Stay away from X442's unless you like fixing breaks in the hull.Also,dont forget to re-inforce it to begin with.I do have a couple 380XL cooling jackets Ill sell you if you want.I dont need them anymore.I went with 540's.

when you say reinforce what exactly do you mean...

Go to the boat building thread and look under Larrys 32"Twin Cat and another thread called Triple Cat.You ll see fiberglass matting and resing layed inside the hull to make it thicker,therefore stronger.You can also use epoxy resin instead of polyester resin which is what fiberglass resin is.If you pick up your hull you can flex the floor from front to back.This is no good.Its think and will crack all the way through or just outright break.Look at the threads and youll see what Im talking about.Dont forget about the cooling jackets.

Heres another motor that my friend ran in his single drive Apparation-Arc 36-75.Its a 1680kv with an X442.It runs mid 60's on 6s and cool temps.

Wifes camera batteries are dead and there are none in the house.They are the exact ones OSE has for the 380XL motors.You can also see them in my avatar.Thats a recent pic.They are in perfect working condition and look new.Ill take $25 shipped and do pay pal as a gift.

The 380 motor have an 1/8" shaft.Do you have any need for motor collets?I have 2 that are 1/8" x .062 for wire drives.They are Etti brand.Id take $20 for those if you are interested.I can throw them in the box with the jackets if you want.
