I used a metal cut off wheel and a Dremel to cut it and a sanding wheel to get it to the shape I wanted. Works good, no dull blades.

Dremel with a diamond wheel works best, and leaves the nicest cut. That's what I use to get it close to the size I need. Then I made a fixture to mount my dremel inverted with a sanding drum coming out through the table (kinda like a router) and get it nice with a fine sanding drum. I finish the edges off with a fine file.

Now, to go a little off topic.....
I don't know whether or not you did, but for anyone who is going to be cutting/sanding/filing carbon fiber, you MUST wear a respirator, and a set of rubber/latex gloves. Not a dust mask, a respirator. Carbon fiber dust is very bad to inhale. Microscopically, carbon fiber dust looks like little spears. You can imagine what it does to your lungs when you inhale it.

I remember I posted this once in someone's thread (don't recall if it was here) after they worked with it and no safety gear. The idiot jumped down my throat for giving him safety tips. Just looking out for your health people. Don't want anyone ending up with lung tissue damage because they were too cool to wear a respirator.
