With all these twin outboard cats, I might try a single one. Just picked up a HK Hornet outboard with a 540 in it. What would you guys think of it on a BJ26? Right now I have one with the stock motor and OSE hardware. Is it worth it? How would it affect handling? It would make a sweet looking boat.

I don't think you could make the factory handling any worse!

Unfortunately yes. I rolled it today in a slow wide turn. Saved the boat and all inside, but just got fed up with it. I'm actually saving one of the outboards for a single O/B mono. I think it will handle much better. Twin outboards just seemed like too much weight at the rear for the hull.Originally posted by wakeboardfusion View Posti wish I would have saw that before i bought the HK one. Did you ditch your twin TC project?

Im worried that an OB will be too much weight, but ive never seen it done yet, so would like to try.

At first I figured I wouldnt waste my time, but I already had the OB and the BJ was sitting there without a powerplant. I figured a couple hours out of my day while on winter break wouldnt be too bad. Hope to have it out this weekend. Will it affect performance if i leave the old stuffing tube in? I dont wanna take it out if the OB sucks and I gotta go back to stock.

It will be some drag but it won't hurt to leave it in. Would suck to take it out and see that the outboard idea sucked.....You can always remove it later if need be.FE BOATING: Less like a hobby and more like an addiction!

Yeah I wouldn't run it first just cut it out right off the bat and hope for the bestOriginally posted by obrien View PostIt will probably cause some issues with your prop. Its not that hard to install a stuffing tube. I would take it out.FE BOATING: Less like a hobby and more like an addiction!

I was thinking that it would cause cavitation issues from water not getting to the prop. Ill just take it out.
