    DF 26 clone

Picked up a DF 26 clone in the swap shop and decided to continue on the tradition of carbon/kevlar. Went the epoxy route this time instead of fg resin and really liked it. Does not stink up the whole house either. Think I will run a BJ26 motor and 4s batts with the proboat 45a esc. Should be a fun little boat and I think I have enough parts laying around to build it.

That thing should scoot with a BJ motor in it. And most importantly,,,,,it will be kick ass reliable with RTR electronics. That's one good thing I can say for my SV. It's not my favorite boat but it is my most reliable boat. Never a problem!

Got some t-nuts installed for strut and rudder. Stuffing tube in and motor mount in and will work on servo and batt. trays today. I really love the lines on this hull. So far has been really easy to build.........

Has the carbon kevlar made it a lot heavier ??
I just received the same hull and think its stupidly thin if i press on the floor it all flexes my delta force 29 didn't anything like this does. Did yours also do this ??

            Thanks.

MIne probably didn't need it but I like to play it safe sometimes. It added a little weight but not a ridiculous amount. The stiffness is there now and no worries about flex.

Got her all finished up and got a maiden in today. Went better than expected. Nice smooth and handled pretty decent. Running 2 2s turnigy 5000mah in series with the Geico powerplant. Top GPS recorded was 37.5mph with a m440. This can handle a way bigger prop so there is more speed to come.

"Very nice" My DF26 went 35mph with with almost the same setup whats your amp draw with that motor. I went with a fegio 11L and a seaking 120, I am hopping to get 40MPH out of it.

If you have a rescue rig, drive it in some chop or boat wake. Those little guys are tons of fun in that stuff!

I am not a big Feigao fan personally. I will say that the bj 26/geico motor is a powerplant for the money. I ran a shockwave 36 on 4s before and got 34mph out of it and ran it on 6s and was in the low to mid forties. My prop is slightly cupped and this may also be part of the speed difference. I will try a 642 next. That should bring the speed to 40 or so. If that looks good I'll spin a 447 after that and let her eat!

Rum, I bet that would be fun. I skipped over a few wakes today and looked good!

You pushed a 36" hull to 34mph with the PB motor? Wow. I never would have thought that!

I'm interested to see how fast you can push this little hull with that motor. I have always wanted to get one of these hulls. Probably give one a try sooner or later.

Chummer, these are a blast to build and really fun to drive. Yeah several people on this forum have talked good about that motor and it really has power on 6s!

Keith, I got it at hobbyking. I like the looks of it and think that it may not interfere with the radio signal as bad as straight carbon. Get you a good set of scissors or you will be pulling your hair out!
