Isnt that the truth. I just didnt want people to think I was trying to make an exact copy for selling purposes or anything. The HOTR is just a good current example of copied hulls right now. The deck details and hatches are the only things that are changing... to me, thats not changing to make better.. its copying.Originally posted by chummer View PostYou have my blessing...copy away.
HOTR is not the only company that has done this.
And yes.. I am copying for my construction hull. After that Im probably going to trash this mold. Im not laying it up greatly anyway. Just thick enough to get it to work.. did it quick w/ polyester and I didnt perfect the original hull, so there will be decal lines in it etc. I just need it to produce a hull to cut up. Then I will sand her smooth and make her purty.

ThanksOriginally posted by Jacked1 View PostI thought about the same thing with my mean machine hull to make it a little narrower and longer to get away from blow overs. I am really looking forward to how it turns out! Good luck man!

Operation Genesis
Who knows what kinda slack Im going to get for this. But HOTR is all I will say for now.
Here goes. Ive got a Genesis. Love the boat. A lot suspected it would be too narrow. I will admit, w/ trq roll etc, it may be slightly tru. But it does corner I think a lot better than we all thought it would. One dissapointing factor is the limited options of what you can install for stingers to run twin drives and/ or, the mods to the hulls sponson transoms to make it work. With the fun Ive been having w/ making the new BJ26 hatches, I thought, what the heck...
A friend of mine and I split the cost on an ARTR from a member on the forum. Ive stripped it, plugged the holes and prepped it to, yes....... copy. But only once. Then the other owner gets the original hull back. Im then going to take my "copy" and hack it up. Im going to lengthen the sponsons at the transom and widen the hull. Havent decided on dims yet, but thats the plan so far.
Heres where she sits. Im doing it to see how much better I can make the boat. Yes Im somewhat copying a design, but I feel Im changing it enough and Im trying to make it better. So go easy on me. Just trying to have some fun.
PS, HOTR, Skunkworks, EKOS, Apparition, mini cat.........
