Why.. wont even be able to come close to TFLs/ your prices. Not worth my time and effort. Im a single one man band operation. I will have as much in materials as you will be selling them for. NOT WORTH THE EFFORT

Don't kid yourself about prices. There's always a lower bid. Build something unique and you're market will be your own. If you try to build it cheaper, you'll just lose out. It's a hard lesson that even the large companies learn over and over.

I think you're on the right track and I'm certainly not competing. I'm doing something entirely different.

People buy $400 hulls for the craftsmanship, not price. Keep on with the craftsmanship and I think you'll do well.

Its not really unique when youre having almost the same thing done to a "lot" shippment, than I was doing. Even put side by side.. If I built mine exactly the same way TFL did, the quantity of a company like TFL, the quantities of supplies they purchase to make them, theres no way I could compete. The everage person on here, comparing the 2 new designed hulls side by side will more than likely pay for TFLs which Im positive is going to come out considerably cheaper than where I was going to end up. Maybe thats a negative way to look at it, but especially in these times for a lot of folks.. its tru. Most knwo now who TFL is. Im just a dude on the foums trying to make a boat. Heck, My materials per boat will be close to your selling price if its anything like your first dozen lot per boat shipped. And I have no idea what TFL uses resin wise, but if its comparitive epoxy to epoxy, then they have my a$$ kicked. My friends kept telling me to do something like this w/ all the other stuff I do/ build. They kept saying put the money into it, itll be worth it and youll get it out. Being unemployed made that decision hard to make. This is why I didnt want to do it. Im not saying that because I dont want competition.. there will always be competition.. but the similarities of the 2 hulls are just too close. Im just glad Im not further along than I am.

No worries man. Ive got more ideas/ projects coming. Its the funding and time to do them that I have to figure out.

Not sure where I said that. I wasnt going to sell the original splash "copy". I wasnt out to make a copy.. I was out to make a better boat. I had 3 buyers lined up. Its cheaper for me to get one of FCs when they are out. Ive got other project up my sleeve. they will be just a cool I promise.

the whole point/ idea was based off my BJ26 hatches... Im not doing all this work to not sell them. Im not selling the replica part of the Genesis I was popping for the "Hull to modify" part. I guess I wasnt clear on that. I had enough Pms about it that I thought i was. More than a dozen inquiries on when it will be available.

The blackjack hatch is awesome. Depending on how the current people working on geico hatches do, there may be a market for them. Personally,I'd love to see a direct fg replacement that allows the internal covers to be used, and has the front pin and rear magnets too. THAT would be cool.

Yup. it will be epoxy layup w/ gelcoat color match and black window. Nothin to do but install it. Oh its all worked out... still want a PM?

If FCs come out different enough than what I was planning, I will continue the build. But I feel its going to be too close for comfort. Time will tell. Until then, keep and eye out for other tricky cool stuff happenin at Scottskis Laminates.

No, I stated Id only make one copy of the original hull. I didnt want folks to think I was splashing and going to sell the original design. Not my bag of potatoes. Anyway, Then I was going to hack that up to make my new one. Sorry if there was any unclarity.
