New SAW Tunnels I am working on...sneak peak...

Well, I am working on a couple SAW purpose built Woodstuff/ ML Boatworks tunnels for an upcoming IMPBA SAW trial. The big one is a 40" Woodstuff w/ modified sponson decking and carbon fiber centerformer deck. This one will be run as 8s and 10s setups for the "S and T" records straightaway record and 2 lap oval record. The small one is 28" Woodstuff that was cut down to 26.75" to fit into the 2s "N" class. The 40" has to be clearcoated which is why the color is kind of dull, and obviously the 26.75" has to be finished, and painted as just the cowling is done with it. I am also going to try and raise my "Q" tunnel record with my 36" Woodstuff as well. Enjoy the pics, more to come! Mike

PS, Kevin Shearin, if you see these pics, share them with Mike Crawford since he doesn't get on the net! Thanks

Its cool man. I wanted to discuss the 1717 Castle/ Neus with you. We will catch up soon. The 40" are $$$$$, luckly Mike Crawford gave this one to me to set some more records!

Ok Mike.... go set your records then we will discuss the $$$$ ..... ha ha ha.... for real.... anyhow I have done some research myself and am sending my 1717 air version back.... the watercooler would be a pain to make work and for some reason the motor wires aren't supposed to be shortened on the air version.... but with the holes in the endbells I can see where it would be advantageous for you to run the air version on the tunnels..... I'm sure a cooler could be made to work with a little tlc.... anyway give me a shout... and don't hurt that 40"!!!

Jason, I did not realize the coolers would be that big of a problem. I would love the open endbells for use in a sport 1/8th scale I am going to try out. Im gonna build a light hull and run it on 5s2p for fun. I think the 1717 has enough to do it, just kinda like the 1500kv vs. 1580kv, and open endbells! Mike

Oh, that 40" will not be for sale tho. Its a sponsored hull, so its gotta stay with me. Its only for 75-80mph SAW's anyways! Mike
