An X437 tripple is faster. Those motors need to rev or they will draw big amps.
Here's one on the Ammo 2300 in an Ovalmaster 26" & it's running on 4s with the original SV27 45A ESC.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Just mill out the holes a tiny bit in the motor mount and it will except a 540 motor

I wish I could have but it was a watercooled mount and I would have been into the water port. Also the spacing of the sideplates was too narrow for a decent water jacket on the motor.

I will pick up an X437 3 blade to add to my prop collection

I had to disconnect the mount cooler also, it was very restrictive

I went up to Kintec today to get some replacement parts and just installed a UL-1 Motor with a Kintec supercooler, new motor mount, Balanced and Sharpened 40mm prop and another 90 amp Seaking along with the addition of some 4000mah Turnigy 25-50c Nano-Techs hopefully it will run cooler. I can't afford to keep installing a new motor and esc every week !!

What should the timing be set at for the UL-1 motor running on 4s?

with this set-up the highest motor temp was 95 degrees , ESC was 109 degrees and Batt 109 degrees, that was after 5 minutes of wide open running :)

and still very fast and handles like a dream.

With a single 4s lipo up front it doesn't ride wet and stays flat in the air when jumping the wakes

I Did have to do a quick epoxy repair at the river when me and my buddy with a DF29 got together on the front stretch. his motor mount broke loose and my battery tray came loose and hull got a little beat up.

What 2300kv Turnigy were you running?? On the Kintec site, the Turnigy motor they show for the Prince is a 540 size motor, not 380?
Light travels faster than sound, so people may appear to be bright until you hear them speak.

it still fits, the turnigy 2300kv motor has a dual bolt pattern, it will mount in a 540 or 380 mount. You just can't use a large diameter cooler.

But I would definately recomend replacing or re-sizing the mount and running a 2050kv UL-1 motor instead, it seems just as fast and runs cooler with longer battery life

10 - 15 degree timing is good on the esc

GPS'd it today at 41.1 mph with my Nuvi 200W.....which is pretty heavy and looks like it slowed down 2 to 3 mph with the additional weight causing it to ride pretty wet, so I am thinking 43 to 44 mph.

Have you got any more run time on this?
Did you run the stock esc at all?
                            Thanks for the info.
This is my first real FE boat. Have been reading for a month trying to pick a good starter setup.

I get mine in a few days. Went with the 3/16 upgrade and the sv1800 motor.
Looking forward to doing some tweaks before i hit the water.

I ran the stock esc and motor but on 4s they both burned up in about 5 runs, 4s is way too much for the stock 380 sized 2880kv motor, Jan runs his on 4s with the stock esc and a 2300kv turnigy with no issues, With the 1800kv you should be fine, Just keep an eye on temps and don't try to run too large of a prop. Something around 38 to 40mm should be a good prop size

                                I am going to start with a 3s 4800 mah 30c and run a 2 blade 40 x 56 to start.
                                I have a CC hydra 120 if I decided to go 4s.
Need to pick myself up on of those 3 blades to try also.
You think the 3 blade would help it run cooler on 3s?
                                Thanks for the info!!!
