    Kintec / HOR Prince

I Picked up a Prince from Kintec Racing last Friday (Kintec is only about 30 minutes from my shop) along with a Kintec .150 one piece shaft, Machined strut, Supervee shaft bushing, 40mm prop, Turnigy 2300kv motor, SeaKing 90 amp esc and a new Cooling Jacket along with a few other Misc. parts and pieces.

I am running it on a single 4s 3000mah Turnigy lipo mounted in the stock location, I Don't have any MPH info but it is way faster than my Shockwave or BJ 26 was and handles like a dream.

I took it down to Jan's ( The owner of Kintec ) today to do some tweaking and bashing, we had a blast

I am experimenting with some Orange pinstripe also. Can't decide if I like it though

That's a really nice boat, I wish I had one. Just picked up a motor and esc for my hydro from him. Shipped quick!

He is a great guy, I am lucky to be so close to his shop and his house where we can run our boats.

I tried an x642 prop today, It Hooked up great and had alot of speed but motor and batt temps went way up. I think I am going to trim it down to 40mm and de-tongue it to try to get the temps back down

Had it out again this evening, I had dropped the motor timing to 0 degress when I installed the 642 prop thinking that would help cool the motor down but was then informed that the timing should be set around 10 degrees to help with the heat issues, I will try that tomorrow, today the ESC was only getting to 125 deg F but the motor was getting to 175 deg F and the motor connectors were getting to 195 deg F

at what motor temp should I be concerned ? and should I replace the stock 4mm motor bullets with some Castle high current 4mm bullets?

Go with the ose 5.5 bullets. Prop back down, and set timing around 10-15 degrees. That's really hot on the motor!

                  Hi Pete.
I had one of these great little hulls & ran all sorts of combinations in it. The guy I sold it to is running an 8Xl in it now & it's a missile.
There's a couple of things that contributed to that high heat.
One is the zero timing. as rumdog says 10- 15 degrees is a lot better for those motors.
And yes, that prop is too big for a Turnigy 2300 as shown by the temps.
Also the battery may not be big enough (depending on the C rating) to deliver the load the motor was pulling. Were the batteries hot?
And yes, do upgrade all the connectors to 5.5mm bullets. Makes a big difference.
I think you are lucky that the ESC is still working.
I get worried if a motor temp hits 150F. There's a chance of the magnets De-magnetising after that. Then the motor will always run hot & lack power.

A great prop on the Ammo 2300 in that boat is the X437/3 blade. I reckon it's worth a try on that Turnigy 2300 too.
                  All the best.
                  Paul.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

The Batts were getting warm but not Hot, they are however only 3000mah 20 - 30c Turnigy's. I picked up a 40mm 2 blade prop and set the motor timing to 11.5 degress ( the Seaking doesn't have a 10 degree setting ) and I will try that set-up this evening and post the results.

Doesn't seem to lack Power so Hopefully the Motor is Ok. The ESC never got above 120 degrees F and is Functioning fine so Far, Hopefully I get it Straightened out before anything Fails.

                    Thanks for all the Info.

U need 2x 2s batts on each side of the motor, the stock batt location makes these hulls ride way to wet contributing to the heat

Tried that with no luck, It is much better planted with a single 4s in the front, and with the way I have the strut adjusted it is not that wet.

40mm Prop and increased timing did the Trick !

Or maybe not....about 3 minutes into a run this evening it just quit....cooked the Motor and ESC......I guess all those high temp runs while I was trying to figure out the right prop caught up with me, But the ESC never got hot and is now shot.

I guess its time to replace the stock motor mount so I can run a 2300kv Ammo or a UL-1 motor, The stock mount only accepts 380 size bolt patterns

Cut out the stock motor mount and am planning a new larger mount, 2300kv Ammo, Kintec Super cooler, another 90 amp Seaking and I have some 4000mah 40c Turnigy nano-tech lipos on they way.

Hopefully If I stick to a 40mm prop I can keep it from going up in smoke again, this will be my 3rd motor and 3rd esc in 3 weeks !!!!
