    Shockwave 26 goes SV

Heres some pic of a build im doing for a guy named Ira that comes to our pond he
asked me for some help and i was willing to help him with Questions he had...He is pretty stoked on this hull even though i told him to get a SV he insisted that this hull is for him so im helping out a fellow FE guy. This is what its all about Helping people so we can make our sport grow. Anyway im going to run it with the SV combo and try a 3 cell lipo. I drilled out the stock outdrive and put a sleeve in it so its a 3/16 prop shaft to .150 cable and installed a new stuffing tube. we will see how it handles.........I just want to thank Steven for such a great fourm

Nice job Tunda. I was so close to doing that same mod (with the ammo motor instead) till SJFE needed the out drive. I then decided to do the Jet drive.

did you put any stops on the steering so you do not bend the flex cable too far when you turn ?

Nice Job Tunda. Did you bench test it? My consern would be the bottom of the hull around the motor mount. Whats the torque flex like? I hate to see it rip the floor out and go down . Maybe a layer of epoxy in that area will sure it up some.

IT runs very good with the 11.1 lipo the owner is very happy the speed is good for him.....but on 12 cells i think it will haul ass....... not so much torque so every thing is good.......THanks guys..........

I would like to get more details on this build as I would like to use the SV27 system in my SW26 as well. Did you use the SV27 ESC? How fast did it go? What size propeller did you use and finally if I used a 7 or 8 cell ib3600 battery what kind of speed do you think I could achieve? Lastly who is the owner of the boat and is he a member here?

We used both the SuperVee 27 motor and esc along with their water cooling system. We also upgraded the drive shaft using the Offshore Electrics flex shaft and put a Grim Racer 42x55 2 blade prop on it. I am running it with one 8,000 mah 7.4 volt lipo battery and it runs around 40 miles per hour. My name is Ira and I live on Oahu and I am a member of both Offshore Electrics and our local club Island Boys Fast Electric. I highly recommend the modification!

iratner are you saying with one 2s 8000 and an SV motor, that boat is doing around 40mph

Sorry, I meant to write that I am using one MaxAmps 6.000 HV 11.1 volt battery. Hope this makes more sense.

Nice job Tunda & Ira. Do you have any spin out issues?

Yes sounds awesome. The SW26 is a fun hull at lower speeds and I can see why you wanted to modify it as opposed to just buying the SV27. There is just something I too like with that hull. Does thhe handling suffer at all? Do you need trim tabs now?

They sell a SV27 Brushless system here at OSE, with ESC and Motor as well as cooling jacket, and no soldering needed for $160. Sounds like a good deal right? Also where is the best place to buy this Max Amps 11.1 lipo?

Not too bad on the spin out issue. The last time i seen that boat run it was faster
than Mr. mauians SV he had to prop up that SW26 just flies and handles really good. Ira runs a 11.1v max amps 8000. You can go to maxamps.com to buy but i would go to thunder power or flight power for lipos you can find them also at tower hobbies............. ALoha, Tunda............
