Some of us live for debate. Merry Christmas all. The proof is before your eyes so to me its small talk to argue about it. Some of the fastest hpr's out there have props smaller than 457's . As I stated real world test beats anyones advice including mine. Good luck with it Avery. As bad as my english and grammar are in the last post Im surprized anyone could even understand it to debate it lol.

Good point I'd drop down to a 1/8 shaft and run some x430's on it, don't want to get too big a prop with those little 5500w motors.FE BOATING: Less like a hobby and more like an addiction!

The reason that boat (in your video)has 42mm props is because its running on 4s. The entire idea of running higher voltage and larger can motors is the ability to turn a bigger prop. If the boat in that video had a decent sized prop on it, the current draw (at any decent rpm) would be way too high to run on 4s. Thats why the boat in the video looks like its going about 30mph. The 42mm prop on that boat is a band aid for the wrong setup in my opinion.Originally posted by TotalPackage View PostI do want those panasonics tho if you willing to sell i also wanted to remind you o this this might help you make some prop consideration you can certainly pueh that boat with 447 might not be ideal but you could migh be ideal but id be looking at a 6 series in that diameter just an example 50 plus inch boat with 442's so you can almost know that a pair of 40 plus mm props will work
Proof:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SdG4Kis9NA advice is great real world test are better.
Its a small issue Im just really glad to see you get your powerplants. I love those hulls.
With a 42mm prop, the 5692s he bought on 12s wouldnt do ANYTHING that 4074/2200kv's on 4s wouldnt do other than add weight.
EDIT:
Compare the video of the boat with X442's to this one with X460's:
Theres more than prop difference there, but my point is you wont find a boat this size with X442's running that well. Its just too small of a prop.Last edited by keithbradley; 12-23-2010, 10:41 PM.

Point taken Keith . Thanks for explaining it in a technical way i could inderstand instead of trying to make those like me with no real cat experience feel stupid. I know that 447 wouldnt be ideal i was merely saying they WOULD push the boat thats all.The only thing that bugs me is comparing the leaopard to lehner 3040's I dont know about that.

You can't compare a Leopard to a Lehner. The Lehner is arguably the best motor made today. However the comparison made by me was for size and power. I don't really know of many other motors that come close to the power of the Leopard 5692 for the money. Price and power is why I recommended it. I felt Avery was on a budget of sorts and didn't think he wanted to shell out $750 a piece for some 3060's. Lastly I was not trying to make you feel stupid but criticizing some of your advice to Avery. Much of your advice was very strange and almost seems as you have not experience in FE at all. He needs sounds advice that tried and true and that's what I will continue to provide.........Originally posted by TotalPackage View PostPoint taken Keith . Tks and hope yall ok. Since I have to wait for esc and such came up with plausible way to rescue my boat if need be useing my heli but not to lift but to bring line with magnet to boat now the boat have magnet top and botom so if boat need rescue have line under heli with magnet fly over it stick mag on boat now fly heli back land now pull boat to saftey of coarse the heli line will have ring that retrieve line pass throught with stoper a few feet from rescue line end with magnet so as to allow to drop off magnet and return back with heli gonna test on land pretty sure it will work if it does wil get son over and video
