    Fightercat Daytona rebuild

    Hello,

It’s been awhile since I’ve been in the boat build world but now I want back in!!

I have this Fightercat Dayton that I built awhile back. It has a CF inlay as well as foam filled tips etc.

I am thinking of pulling everything out and then turning this into a twin build!

My question is I’m not super familiar with how I should go about tearing this apart. Any tips and tricks on how to fill holes such as rudder mount screws and steering linkage holes?

    thanks!!!

For things like the rudder mount holes, I put masking tape over the holes on the outside, and fill them from the inside with epoxy dyed black. If the holes are a little bigger, like the cooling line holes, I would probably start with the same tape technique, but only fill the hole partially, just enough to get a smooth outer finish, and then use a mix of chopped fiber and resin, or a small cloth patch laid down on the inside. Lots of ways to skin that cat.

I will tape wax paper over the hole and fill from the inside using Marine RX by west systems. It's an epoxy putty and have had wonderful results with it. Even when I've misaligned a hole and just had to move it a touch, the stuff is magical.
