I have the Jessy James and it would be a little big for what you are wanting to do. I run mine on 10S2P and it is a rocket. Have you thought about the Scat Cat 33?

That is why I have balsa cats - can't afford the mystics or HPRs yet. Why not build a 36" balsa cat? you can modify the interior to take two motors (I have added a twin motor bulkhead to the plans).
I actually go for performance first, looks second, ugly boats can still win races :P
I once built a Balsa cat with light glass over it, and man, was it fast, til it blew over at 50+ mph and ended up as splinters, I built a replacement for that boat out of ply and then won the club champs with it, I now wouldn't build out of balsa for FE,

Fair enough - Lucky you to be racing... can't wait to be in an area with a club (or be in an area long enough to establish one). I will be making them out of light ply, great stuff foam and heavy glass in the future; I haven't had one rupture yet (but I may not be achieving the speeds you are Matt).

Thus illustrating another point - objectives.

The Team Believer is 36" long and should work great
the Scat Cat looks like I would have a hard time getting twins into it..

The Team Believer has identicle sponsons as the Sprint Cat the difrence in the two is the upper half. Handling is almost the same, only aerodynamics over the hatch is diffrent. I would go with the T.B. , pleanty of build room for a twin, S.C. you will wish your hand were smaller !

another reason I'm leaning towards this hull is the extra room to place twins in..
should be much easier to work on..

Looks like it will be the Team Believer..
I want to do a Caterpillar theme like my UL-1
I'm thinking where the dark blue is that will be black and where the light blue is will be yellow..

I have been pondering just that with several boats. One of my customers brought in a 28 inch hull to build for him. this was my answer. I put a wedge under the motor mount now I can get the the bottom screws with no problem to remove the motor.

Thanks, it is the first step in building something that works good. I am going to do something similar with my SC33 when I get to the build of the twins hull. I also have a HPR 06 that I am going to put in twin 1527's that need something stronger but accessible.

not sure what a good prop would be to start with..
