I my big Lehmar (drool) I'm running 2 Fiego 9XLs on 3S each with Turnighy 120's and they never get above warm. They are watercooled but the watercooling got clogged last year and I ran the rest of the year with no heat issues and little (or no) cooling.Grand River Marine Modellers

y's Thanks everyone for the input. I think Doby's 9xl & 120a solution is my ticket. Now I need to find them..."A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough."

LED's are DONE! I decided not to do a mast light or an overhead pilot house light. Here's what I have:

Danny, I have gone round and round inside my head about the motor issue. I have a feeling the prop won't ever be surface penetrating. Therefore I would be looking to use tons of torque at high voltage; the work of take off will be pretty labor intensive and maintaining flight won't be the same as keeping an sv on plane. The prop might need to be small and round - not like the X series octura.
How about one of the low kv t600s? Then the issue of all the weight... Now you get the idea of why mine is still on the shelf...."Look good doin' it"

The boat had her first run yesterday. She ran well but didn't last long. The rush to get her ready for sea trials costed me an RChydros Sport ESC and a motor. The motor screws were just a tad too long, I knew it when installing them, but I was determined to see her run at all costs. I'm now on the lookout for a traxxas evx-2.
Please keep your eyes peeled for one (cheap) It will be pushing a Traxxas 775 motor"A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough."

The Traxxas 775 brushed motor and the EVX-2 is installed and programmed. I'm going to make another test run before I re-hook up the LED's because I don't want to wait for another rx controlled on/off switch from hong kong."A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough."
