    Hay Bonewar,
can you also please let me know what angle you have on your struts if any? mine are fairly nuteral, if not a little trimmed in (running wet).

    Thanks....Fruity..

      Fruity,

Mate i think you will see better speeds if you drop your struts down a little bit more than where you have them now.
Have a look at how i have mine setup. When i dropped them down i gain another 10 klm/h.

C.O.G I have mine setup to 34.5cm from the back of the transom. Check out the pic it explains what i'm trying to say.

Sorry about the lipo cut offs just read it wrong.

The motor placement you have is good , just trying to help other people make it a little easier to get at the flex drives. The bulk head i put in my cat should have been closer to the bow , Which would have made it easier to move the lipos forward. As it is now they are hard up against the bulk head.

i was just gonna ask, whats your cog? your batteries are really far forward!!! and 6s on ea side .. thats huge as far as wieght goes. i have practicly no weight in the stern(no reinforcing) and my batts are bached up to my motors. to me from the puics id say your cg is too far forward. see and in comparison to Bonewar's strut angles im at +2 deg..?hmmm , good luck buddy!!!!!

ill check tomorrow for you! I run two set ups, x2)5000 mah on one and 2650's on the other. I like the 2650's better cuz of weight. I get a great run time with both.. Go figure?...ILL CHECK W/ BOTH

              Fruity,

A good place to start would be around 36 cm from the transom.
Then you can adjust it as needed.

                  Toys,
Steering servo is a HS-77BB, Low profile, only about 30mm overall height, I was worried about the tourque, but is seems to turn the boat alright.

                  Cheers...Tim.

Ok tim, my timo's cog is at exactly 1 ft 1/4" from where bonewar measured weighing in at a stagering 12 lbs even. With the 5000 mah 2)4s turnigy's. Now with the set up i like it weighed in at 11 lbs even with the cog at exactly 1 ft and with the 2650 mah lipo's. I like to measure on the bottom so if you look at the second ride pad im an 1 1/4 ''up from the end of it and 1'' with the last set up which is how i like it. Now the weight and power of my set up changes alot though. IT LOOKS AS IF BONEWARS COG IS ABOUT 1 1/2 " FARTHER FORWARD THAN I RUN. BUT AGAIN FIGURE IN THE WEIGHT IM COMING IN AT. MINES STILL FASTER BONEWAR

                      Wolf,
Thanks for the info, I have changed the COG, it was too far forward, I have also changed the motor timing and the strut angle, I will re-test in the next couple of days after work.

I will slowly increase the timing, set at 0 degree's at the moment, was at 15 degrees on the weekend, I am hoping this makes a difference as well.

The difference in the strut angles between yours and Bonewars confuses me a bit, but I will play with that soon enough.

Here's the link to the very first time it hit the water, a bit dissapointing with the speed, only hit 60kph this run, but I am overall still pretty happy.

                      Cheers .....Tim.

Mines weighs alot more!!! Thats why my cog is farther back and strut angle higher..my motors are more powerfull as well, so with the weight added alot changes it seems. Start w/ 0 deg on the strut angle and go from there...

Nevermind I just saw the Flightmax packs in an earlier post. Make sure that your driveline has no binding and is very easy to spin.

                                Guys,
yep 9XL's on 6S, that's why I am little dissapointed, I would have liked to see around the 80kph as the initial speed, then tune it up from there.

Another run in the next couple of days will see how it goes.

The motors just don't sound like they are revving, that's why I question the ESC timing, not sure if the Turnigy / Seaking 180's have any other settings that can effect the motor performance.

They should spin the 40mm carbons without much effort at all?

Any idea's on settings for the ESC's is appreciated.

                                Thanks.....Tim.
