      Dave.
The other problem I've encountered with the square drive cable is that the socket in the stub shaft splits at the corners & the flex just spins in it. I've replaced 3 stubs before I soldered the shaft into the socket. No problem now. But removing the shaft out through the boat is still a pain.
It can be removed without removing the motor if the stuffing tube stops short enough to allow you to slide the Hex Flex coupler off the motor shaft & take it off the flex. Then bend the flex up to slide it out past the motor. Works for me.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

I think they are the main distributor if not the manufacturer.... The strut that cane with my HOR32 had TFL Hobbies etched onto it....

The UK distributor told me that they are thinking of releasing a dual 540 kit for this boat, They call it Apparition and it comes RTR with either a single 540 3660KV motor 125A ESC or TWO 380 2858kv motors 70A ESC.

The website states upto 100Kmh for the dual drive. I think it could be a good starting point for uprating later....

I have been trying to work out my own set-up but I'm struggling with it....
My wife wants to get the parts for my Chistmas gift???? I'm gonna have to do some thinking!!!!

If I do it, I will make a plate/bulkhead to fit into the sponson, the motor will mount directly to this....

Steven sells some cheap aluminum mounts that I used on my EKOS when I did the 540 swap. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=ose-drmount
They are nothing special, but they were easy to trim to fit inside the hull

                    Hey KillerDave,
I saw the twin HOR32. I wonder what pricing will be at.

I'm going to be building a twin drive this winter as well. Just received my MHZ 840mm(33") Mystic hull. I have been struggling as well with what motors to use. Based on the size of this hull, battery placement will be tricky. I'm not looking to build a record breaker. Not going to race it, just for fun and show. A lot of the time I won't have perfectly calm conditions. I would like to run 2-4s each but I don't know if 2s each is possible. Based on some recommendations, I am leaning towards twin 540L 11L or 12L motors. Remommendation was to go with low rpm motor and use larger props. Counter rotating porp selections are limited.

I was thinking Etti 150 Navy's. Better to go overkill with the ESC's right? I was also concidering the Seaking 180A's but I'm not sure if it's worth it to save $100 at this point. I figured I could always upgrade motors. Most of these items will be Christmas gifts as well.
I'd like to run 2s's for each sometimes but I don't know if that's going to pull to many amps.
I'll post some pictures of the hull this week. I love the lines of the Mystic.
Went with the MHZ outdrives as well. I parted with a lot of toys to save up for this.
Have you thought of how you plan on securing the flex drives to the hull?
I look forward to following our builds.
I guess it might be time to start another twin build thread!

                      Tomtoys2,

Doing the engineering on all of this is no problem but, what I am going to have trouble with is the componants like motors, ecs's and batteries..... I think my set-up will be workable and I'm sure it will have room for improvement too.

I kinda had a though today that IF I did go for the dualdrive set on e-bay it would get the boat back out on the water and it should be fun to a point, I know my son would love it too.

After tat is done and running about, I think I will start fresh with a new hull altogether and build the twin 540 monster! I would like to stick with the HOTR but there are a few out there.... Let me know if you do start a new thread....

Ok... I know I have put posts on another thread about this but it should remain on here! Sorry guys...
So, I have built my twin 380L HOR 32 and Oh My Word! It is so slow!
I just got a prop speed reading and it's like 1/10th of what it shoud be...
So, I looked at the Instructions for programming the ESC's and guess what... I have the 70A version and it starts at 4s! and I was running it on 3S's.... How dumb do I feel???
                                So, my question is this....
The motors I am running are FSD 380L's 2881KV and if I run 4S, they will be running at like 41486RPMs, Can they take that? Can I just limit my throttle???? to say 35,000RPM
