Did you see the set-up they use for the servo on speedtoys website?

They use 2 servos 'sandwiched' between 2 aluminium plate with some nice anodised aluminium screws and parts. That's way too cool

Perhaps Gerwin or some other boaters could tell us who sell those in Europe?

They do look so professionally made that I guess that they are commercially available and not home-made. No doubt the price also won't be cheap....

Yes, I am planning on using carbon fiber for all the mounts like the battery, motor, servo's and such. If I build them and they don't look good, then I will get the CNC'd pieces from over sea's.

For the battery holder a cheap option or idea is to get the one used by Venom on the electric KOS.

Alternately if you want to do your own just get a carbonfibre or fibreglass plate. Cut it same width of the battery and longer than the battery. Glue some wood strips below and then glue the whole thing on the floor. The space between the wood strips would allow the velcro straps to slide underneath. The longer battery holder would allow you some adjustment as to centre of gravity......

That's what I'm doing on my 3 boats projects at the moment (1 deep V and 2 catamarans)

On another hand HPR hull in my humble opinion is the best (and one of the most expensive) hull. It needs the best material and personally I would save and get all those German made carbon fibre parts. If I use cheaper parts I'll probably regret it later....

When you buy an expensive new Mercedes you want to also buy the original options parts not the cheap imitation ones.....

I've seen a lot of owners of HPR06 uses carbon fibre boxes/trays for their servos and receivers. Does anybody know where we can buy those?

Thanks for the link to the Set Ups page. It looks like most of the guys are using a carbon plate to mount the battery on. Some of the plates have oblonged holes for velcro straps on the sides.

Question: Some of the battery plates have a large hole in the middle of the plate with a hogged out run going from the hole to the front of the battery plate. Kind of like a raceway. Are people glueing "bungs" to the bottom of the batteries and then inserting the bungs into the holes and sliding the batteries up the raceway. Kind of like a quick release battery holder? I hope you understand what I am trying to describe.. Thanks!

I was thinking about building some type of "stand-offs" in the sponsons at the end of the batteries with a CF bar going across the top of the batteries to hold them. Along with Velro on the bottom of the batteries to the sponsons.
I just didn't know if there was a structural hull inegrity type reason that the batteries should not be mounted directly to the sponsons. I want the weight of the batteries as low as possible.
Yep, need seat belts on those batteries to hold them in during a crash.

Velcro direct on sponsons : not solid enough. One major flip and the packs, incl. velcro will be ripped out !!

Xkos, thats a nice Mystic build you have going there! I wonder how much alike the new Mystic is compared to the HPR. I wanted to order some parts from MHZ but there site is down.

Back on the AE carbon parts for the HPR, I think I will try to make my own motor mounts to start with. At least try it. I got a response from AE but by the time I pay wiring fee's (35 bucks) and shipping (20 bucks) I am at the point where I can purchase a scroll saw and the carbon and give it a whirl. Hanspeter said he could send me a drawing of the motor mount that is for a Lehner motor so I will try to modify that.

On one of the other builds sites for the HPR, it was mentioned that Hanspeter does not suggest mounting the batteries directly to the sponsons without a battery resting plate (of sorts). Does anyone know why it is not suggested to just velcro the batteries in the sponsons?

After two months research i decide to go with Neu motors.
My setup will be: Neu motors 1521 1Y, esc YGE 155 navy, 6s or 7s hyperion lipos (35C),octura 447 sharpened and balanced props. First decide what volt you want and then choose you motor. You need motors with enough torque in order to see HPR flying....

I would consider the 1527/1y also... they will run great on 6s,, later 8s they would fly!!! I have ran both the 1.5d and 1y.. The d will pull more amps and wont be good on 8s except for short straightline passes... Just food for thought!

Yes, I didn't word that sentence to well. I will be ordering speed controls that will allow me to run more than 6S if I get bit by the speed bug. Was looking at the Hydra HV's.
