Nah, it was the black that was chunky.

Motor, servo, and hw installed with graphics. Decided to leave the hw black for now. It may get polished in the future. I HATE the stuffing tube/strut/strut bushing combo. It leaves virtually no angle adjustment. My tube from the factory had such an angle that I couldn't get the strut even close to flat! The stuffing tube goes all the way in the strut, The bushing goes all the way in the stuffing tube. I had to bend the stuffing tube quite a bit to flatten it out near the stern. I set the strut a 1" and 0 angle for starting point. Once again, the motor is an 8xl. Esc should be here in a couple days and the rest of my batteries tomorrow. Gonna give a x 440 a go on the first run and then work up to prather 220 or m445.

First run was tonight. Ran like poo! Prather s220, 4s. Chine walking maniac. Started with strut flat at 1" deep. Went to 1.125" an -1 degree, chine walk was worse. Bumped the strut up a lil above 1" and it was a little better, but still couldn't get to top speed. Dhine walked in corners too. Definately not the right prop. Oh well, M445 tomorrow.

My Ul-1 would really get crazy in corner's on every prop except the m445 and the x442. I tried the stock props, one 47mm three blade and nothing performed better than the m445... I never got to see my setup on an x445 but im sure it would have ran high 60's easy.LMT

Actually, I ran my Neu setup on my Orange UL-1 straight out of the box with no adjustment just to see where everything was at..AND IT RAN Great on stock strut depth. So I left it until I got my GPS in the mail.
The first GPS pass was 58.8mph...no adjustments.
Then I decided to raise the strut around 1-1/2mm up... then it ran 59.5mph, and 61.2mph without the turnfin....but it bounced in the corners really bad... it was straight away faster... but not worth the fun cornering speed.
I have a video of the boat running with stock strut depth and the 2nd vid. with a different strut depth.
Go to Youtube and type in SinisterTV.LMT

My setup on my boat was totally different, so my strut depth will be setup for a little more power, plus my CG is different than yours, so its hard to say.
Here's how my boat ran most of the time, walking ass lol
