Hope you have been keeping well Douggie. All ok here. I am getting over the flu but nothing serious.

I took my DF 29 out again this morning after removing the andym X640 and replacing it with an andym X642. The speed went up 6 kph to 110 kph or 68.35 mph which is not bad for 3s in a mono.
Setup...
andym X642, Neu 1515 0.5Y, Hydra 240 lv, Turnigy nano 3s = 110 kph or 68.35 mph

I am now chasing 7 kph or 4.34 mph to break my personal record.

You need to charge them cells to 5 volts each rolfmao.
Paddy do you have some thing to warm the battery with. Mite be worth a try if your not already

I now have 3 ways of warming my battereis thanks to the Doc.
1. Electric hot water bottles. You can buy them on ebay for $9 each. A bit smaller than the normal ones but I put one in a food warmer/cooler and then wrap the battery in a Turnigy Towel and pop it on top of the first water bottle. The second water bottle goes on top. This method does a great job.
2. Doc sent me an electric battery warmer made for lipo batteries. Runs off 12 volts and has adjustable heat. I have to solder some connectors and I will be testing it asap. Test results will be published on S&K for your perusal.
3. Tucked in the undies but the thought of fire and the fact that it is uncomfortable make me only do this if I have to.

5 volts per cell would do the trick but so would an extra cell. 4s test next and going back to the X640 to keep amps down a little. Motor is 4400 kv from memory and on 4s that's starting to get the Neu a little excited.

I hope the towel will be used tomorrow. I am going down the 4s road so speed will be good if there is no blow over or explosion inside the motor. I only need to see 117 kph and the towel will be used.

No ozzie. Plenty of speed but it wont stay on the water. It is riding well until 112 kph and then it becomes very unstable and within a few meters it goes for the sky. Still thinking about it. More weight or get the nose down a little or both.

Yup. I wish my motor and esc for the first one would arrive. That has the race legal motor but I want something a bit faster than that for some industrial estate speed runs so that is why the new mini.

Trim tabs might just hold it down and stable so I will add that to the think list while I play with my mini. Now I sound like Douggie.
