Back to boats for a minute. While I am rebuilding the rigger that had a conflict (and lost) with a bouy. I am seriously considering doing a smaller Canard type hull.
Here is the pic that has me all hard.Attached FilesLast edited by Simon.O.; 07-24-2011, 03:15 PM.See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Post office woman yelled at me today(again) as I entered the doorway..
"NO ! ".
Same question these last 10 days.... 'has my package from OSE arrived yet?'
Usually 7 days USPS intl to my door... 18 and counting
Reckon it's lounging somewhere warm and sunny, sipping tequilas, flicking me the bird .. while Im camped outside the post office, freezing my baubles off ......
All I need are a pair OSE 'ear rings' to finish her off .. then my pet Frankenstinian pussy will get wet and warm ...... :wrysmile:Wayne Schutte PhdCSE BaSE BaEE. Australian, & damn proud of it

Doc, you are a beauty I would love to meet you and many other marsupials, Paddy, Andy are excluded as they are Aussie arseholes, but I love them.

I do believe meeting you would be educational and entertaining, old chum.
However, decry not my fellow OSE AU pals.. .. coming from a bloke in skirt exiled from bonny Scotland.,, it holds no credibility .
I speak not for Andy, he has gone to ground, like the wombat he is ( eats roots and leaves )... and though absent, is always in our minds.
( get out ! )
Paddy is no marsupial. He lives in our country's down under nether region, lovingly referred to as 'the bushy triangle' .. an overgrown place of valleys and caves .. .. all sorts of itty bitty titty biting critters scurrying around.
Not a safe place for the unwary to poke his head into !
It's a wise move to wear a rain coat if you go .. might catch a chill !!
No, Paddy is hardly a marsupial.. he tells me he is a crustacean ( or was it cetacean ? )
go figure....

about the space. Most of my boats are too fast for this lake.
There would have been more videos if it had not been for the ducks. Second run ended up where Moses started out because I was watching for ducks and not the shore. It never hit hard but I had put the camera away so I finished the pack up and went home. It was too cold to be messing about with cameras. More video tomorrow I hope.Several boats in various stages of destruction

Must be USPS, I'm also waiting on a few packages from a few different locations in the states and as always, it seems every time I pay extra for quicker postage, it's taking longer than the cheaper/slower post normally does

That's a real shame Douggie because the boat is named after the darker side of you. Black is your heart and Douglas is your name. We like that side down here. No goody two shoes down here thank you very much. Give us a villain and a scoundrel any day.Originally posted by Flying Scotsman View PostAll I heard was some good motor noise and ducks. I did not see a boat.

Dr W deserves all the credit for how it performs. All I did was to make it invisible to you and take it to the water.Several boats in various stages of destruction

All is not lost.

Sorry to hear that Simon. Swan is a beautiful bird to eat. When I was about 16 they had a Swan season two years in a row down here. My dad had a 15 foot runabout boat that he raced and we done some water skiing with but for the Swan seasons it was our Battle Boat that we chased the Swans with. Can you imagine how exciting it was for a 16 year old boy to be in the boat while dad drove the boat into the groups of Swans and 3 men with shotguns unloaded as many pellets into those feathered fools. Bang, Bang bloody Bang. Feathers and Swans going everywhere. We gave several boatloads away to guys with small slow boats. They are the best bird I have ever eaten.Originally posted by Simon.O. Do gooders need not even comment on this post as IMO the young of today need some times like this with older men. My dad took me Kangaroo, Deer and Rabbit shooting also. We went fishing, water skiing and scuba diving together. My dad was my best mate back then. I thank him for my interest in model boats today as I can remember him building me my first battery powered boat when I was about 12. No radio controls and I could walk faster but to me it was my prize possession.Several boats in various stages of destruction
