While you may be TECHNICALLY correct, there have been nations that are 95% (more or less) Socialist or Communist. Mussolini's Italy, Lenin/Stalin's Russia, Hitler's Germany (the term NAZI is the acronym for "National SOCIALIST Party"), Mao's China and so on. Maybe they're not 100.000% Commie or Socialist but enough so to destroy the freedom and liberty of those nation's "subjects" (note: you can't be a citizen of a tyricanical dictitorial government, only a subject). We're not 95% socialist.....yet; but "change" is coming on that percentage if BHO succeeds.

With all do respect Dr.J you know better, all the aforementioned where under Totalitarian control and not even close to being Communist which truly have no relations to the derogatory term Commie. Both were and still are a political threat to Imperialism... oops I meant capitalism. because they in their true form voids classism.

Change will come, regardless of the pros or cons, it's physics 101. Change is the ONLY constant, so either you adapt move out the way or be Changed by it.

So you believe the Soviet Bloc (Eastern Europe) was part of the empire of a capitalistic country? And that Tibet is a willing member of the Chinese Empire?

Just FYI, I used the word "Commie" instead of "communist", simply because I was: a. Lazy; b. Short on time. No hidden meaning or agenda was buried in that choice of word.

                Lesson on Socialism.
An economics professor at Texas Tech said he had never failed a single student before but had, once, failed an entire class. The class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism.
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But, as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too, so they studied little.
The second test average was a D. No one was happy. When the third test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame, and name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for anyone else.
To their great surprise, all failed. The professor told them that socialism would ultimately fail because the harder it is to succeed the greater the reward, but when a government takes all the reward away, no one will try so no one will succeed.

Everyone should read this. Many people use the term, few actually know what it means.

Socialism—defined as a centrally planned economy in which the government controls all means of production—was the tragic failure of the twentieth century. Born of a commitment to remedy the economic and moral defects of capitalism, it has far surpassed capitalism in both economic malfunction and moral cruelty. Yet the idea and the ideal of socialism […]

The classroom example above is based on an incorrect understanding of what socialism is and how it works. Socialism fails for many other reasons. The common misunderstanding is that it is based on a goal of common outcome and a perfectly equal distribution of wealth.

And here's what Snopes has to say about the "Lesson on Socialism"

Anecdote tells of an economics professor's use of exam grading to teach his class about the failures of socialism.

A prefect example how these things float around in CyberSpace and get resurrected and mutated as needed to fit a specific goal. Snopes says this one may have been around in one form or another for over 15 years!!

There are no true proponents of a capatalist or socialist order left in this world. Both doctrines failed in their ideals and have morphed into??

Snopes is hardly the authoritative answer - about as accurate Wikipedia. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose...

Go check on their background. Consider where they are coming from next time you read their site.

Of course, if you're left-leaning, you already knew that and love them for how well they've been able to dupe the masses.

They aren't always accurate and unbiased, especially when it comes to politics.

                                From the FAQ at snopes:

Q: How do I know the information you've presented is accurate?

A: We don't expect anyone to accept us as the ultimate authority on any
topic, which is why our site's name indicates that it contains
reference pages. Unlike the plethora of anonymous individuals who
create and send the unsigned, unsourced e-mail messages that are
forwarded all over the Internet, we show our work. The research
materials we've used in the preparation of any particular page are
listed in the bibliography displayed at the bottom of that page so that
readers who wish to verify the validity of our information may check
                                those sources for themselves.

The definitive Internet reference source for researching urban legends, folklore, myths, rumors, and misinformation.
So, if you want to attack a source that actually tries to verify the accuracy of what they post and who lists their sources, then I am not sure there is anywehre to go. Have you ever asked yourself why it seems that some many of these viral emails that turn out to be false come from the right rather than the left??
