Actually Jay, you are bang on...it pisses me off how much we in "Beautiful British Columbia" pay in taxes for gas...especially, Vancouver with all the local and provincial(state) taxes that are added.

It is VERY interesting for me: I came to this country in 1980, gas was $1.57 per gallon, super unleaded. It climbed steadily during my college years until it was in the $1.80 range. Then it plunged in the mid-late eighties to below $1.00 per gallon and through out the 1990's. ( my recollection only applies to So Cal)
Yes, I hear hybrid cars are not selling as well, may be there will be some discounts!
Too bad that will not have any effect on Lipo batteries' prices.
Paid 2.60 the other day and thought it was a deal. Its a great trick, jack the prices up then lower them, but not lower then they were before. Consumers think prices are low again and the corporations get more $$
