How much is gas where you live?

Looking at the cost of gasoline per gallon is useless unless you consider the portion which is tax:

UK - $4.15/gal is tax
Ontario - $0.82/gal is tax
BC - $1.26/gal is tax

The price of oil (WTI) is $53.76/bbl or $1.28/gal

All in US gallons and US dollars as recent as I could find.

Honestly, I only care how much is subtracted from my wallet....taxes or the actual cost of gas...doesn't matter to me...only the total I have to pay.

Actually Jay, you are bang on...it pisses me off how much we in "Beautiful British Columbia" pay in taxes for gas...especially, Vancouver with all the local and provincial(state) taxes that are added.

That's just the state tax. Your city may also impose it's own taxes as well.

No, it's cool...I just don't want this to turn into a heated government discussion. Just how cheap we are getting gas. I never thought I'd see $1.99 a gallon again!

It is VERY interesting for me: I came to this country in 1980, gas was $1.57 per gallon, super unleaded. It climbed steadily during my college years until it was in the $1.80 range. Then it plunged in the mid-late eighties to below $1.00 per gallon and through out the 1990's. ( my recollection only applies to So Cal)
Yes, I hear hybrid cars are not selling as well, may be there will be some discounts!
Too bad that will not have any effect on Lipo batteries' prices.

Paid 2.60 the other day and thought it was a deal. Its a great trick, jack the prices up then lower them, but not lower then they were before. Consumers think prices are low again and the corporations get more $$

here is U$ 1.00 liter our junk gas with 22% added ethanol....and the governent has annouced the price will raise soon.

10% ethanol mix 1.09AUD/L = $3.32US gal .. crap .. I wont run my mowers on it !

other parts of Au are worse due local govt taxes.

86.6 cents/L this morning was the cheapest I saw. 90.9 was the most expensive. Not bad considering what I was driving gets less than 2km/L!
