Roman pirozek killed in RC Helicopter accident

Roman Pirozek jr. was killed while flying his RC Heli.

I have seen this fellow a couple of times in competition, he was sponsored and very very good. Bad luck all around. No major details other than the blades hit the top of his head and sliced a bit off and hit his shoulder.

A few years ago an RC heli instructor was also killed after his student lost control. Senators tried to force some legislation through after the death. I haven't been able to dig up what it was. Lets hope this doesn't cause the same thing, knowing these politicians nowadays.

Anyone that has seen some of these guys fly know that it was just a matter of time before something like this happened.

Tragic yes, but it was a situation waiting to happen (I wouldn't call it an accident):

Here's a quote on what he was trying to do:

"The video culminates with him dropping the $1,500 model from the sky, only to restart the rotor when it is just inches from his head"

We may as well run our boats while standing in neck deep water and see how close we can get without skewering ourselves.


Again, tragic that it happened, but some common sense could have prevented it.
