Yep. The cops life was in danger. lol. It's called, grabbing, and cuffing.
Here's how the talk should have went.
Cop- "Hey, get off the tractor, get on the ground, and put your hands behind your back."
Harmless hillbilly on lawn tractor-"blaghbrumminablah frmph...NO!"
Cop- no speaking necessary. Grab, force to the ground, and cuff.
A taser, really?
More of this B.S. will have more criminals carrying guns.

My son's a cop. His beat is the bad corner of town. I'm glad he carries a taser, gun, knife, and stick. And radio.

It won't make any more bad guys carry guns. Besides, they won't get a chance to use them. A cop has to be sure that a life is in jeopardy before he fires a lethal weapon. With a taser, the burden is much less, and he's far more likely to successfully restrain a belligerent perp if he tases him sooner, rather than allowing the situation escalate to life-threatening.

I worked in Special Ops when these things were being developed. There was a huge push (both military and civilian) to have non-lethal weapons. They save lives. Period.

As a bleeding heart, I'm sure that's a very important thing to you. It is for me, and I'm pretty conservative.

The point is, that if the situation in the vid were real, the cop is a pussy, and mis used his "power."
Also, they have been proven to be deadly on occasion and are grossly over used.

Good case in point about Taser being over used. I know cops go through self-defence training classes. Look at what the RCMP did to that guy up here at the YVR airport (Vancouver Intl Airport). There were about 5 of them, and they could have easily subdued the guy without tazing him to death?? It's such an easy tool to overuse.
