thats not the mentality you should have...if taxes go up...who cares? if you're pulling in MORE cash, you're going to need MORE help. that has nothing to do with taxes plain and simple.

so do you guys think businesses aren't going to want to make money anymore if taxes go up? (btw taxes aren't going up any more than they were in the 90's if at all...i dont know where you're getting your info, but in one of the best economies in memory, clinton raised taxes, and should bush's cuts expire without renewal, taxes would revert back to clintons standards.)

ask any business owner, the years when they paid the most taxes, they made the most money. that's how it works. to say that you're going to stop working, or not hire people due to taxes, is misinformed. if your sales increase along with taxes, you're going to hire more help. basically, you're going to do what makes sense for your business.

by the way, i think its interesting to note, while everyone is harping on obamas spending spree...if you compare bush's deficits with obamas, there a striking difference. obama's deficits are way larger right? here's the fact that you wont be told on the radio. bush didn't include the iraq and afghanistan wars in his budgets. and he still had massive deficits. now THATS a spending spree...800 billion on medicare? spending spree's have been happening for decades now, why are people jumping on the bandwagon at this point?

my major criticism of obama is unemployment. although as we know, businesses are sitting on huge piles of cash. obama can't force them to spend it to hire people. the only way to do it is to "stimulate" the economy through public works...

in reality though, the jobs are gone...we need to cut our trade deficit and start making stuff here again or this country has a grimm future ahead of it.

This statement is funnier than the BS removal kit!!!

yeah, 4 trillion in 8 years, that really sucked I agree. Looked lately?

Patriot act, I agree again, got hoodwinked on that one, at least it had a sunset clause so it went away. Wait, notice who made it permanent?

Bankrupt the economy.... umm.... ????? how has that changed?

The others I will give you, people can disagree or agree on issues. Like lets see if we end up adding a third front to our wars. That has worked out great for others in the past. I will agree with you on lots that went wrong in the last eight years. George bush and the republicans/dems stunk!

But come on, your holding the dems up as a party???? Really!?!?!? By doing that you are playing your cards face up that you are just a Democratic party person. Which is fine, that is everyones choice. Just like it is someone elses choice to be a republican whore. That is your choice as an American, but either extreme is ripe for criticism. We were all part of this, I guess we are all ripe

I choose to acknowledge that neither party is really our friends and looking out for the american people. If you want to be a party person, that is fine. But please stop holding one party up compared to another, they both stink. It just seems that we disagree on who stinks more.

If you want to hold something up, hold it up in comparison to our principles, to our beliefs, to our constitution. To our common good. Help show others the good that is left in our system so we can all support it and gain strength from it. Hopefully the good will stand without having to be tied to either party. It is good because it serves the people.

I have started reading the constitution and declaration of independance again. Reading and trying to understand. Oh well, I am just tired.....

        Sorry for the rant, Brian

Oh, I still think the commercial was funny and it can apply to damn near any bumper sticker!

befu, i recommend the federalist papers for someone who really wants to understand the constitution. i've taken more con-law classes than i could shake a stick at for my degree, and yet i still find myself referencing the federalist papers more often than the actual constitution.

Public works? More people on the Government's payroll.

thats not true...studies from many different organizations have shown that we are stagnant in our national infrastructure. we have roads falling into rivers...it's in the worst state of disrepair since the interstate highway system was devised by uncle ike. (a brutal waste of spending i take it?).

china, india, europe, they're all ahead of the game in their highway systems. all the advancements are overseas when they used to be here. we need to catch up to the rest of the world. in 5 years we will have a much faster internet/telephone system. overseas, they already have it.

Why the lack of repair? Because entitlement programs get people re-elected. That's where they spend our money instead of where it should go.

Actually I started to read them awhile back, but I wasn't motivated enough or interested enough to continue. I think I would be now, thank you for reminding me.

I agree, the bridges are falling, literally. But they are repaving roads around here and making new on-ramps. But the bridges are not getting repaired.
Why? Because its quick and easy to toss money into pavement.

That is an accurate statement...the media today in most cases pander to their owners political outlook.....Walter Cronkite and other newscasters of repute, I miss you, as there are very few left.....Citizen Kane is alive.
