Not sure if this thread is deviating from original post but I do have a story that sticks in my mind. A coworker cut 1 inch of his little finger off with a skill saw on a Sunday morning and procceded to the hospital. While his wife was doing the paperwork thing with the receptionist, he sat down and noticed 2 women, one with a son and one with a daughter. He says the boy was 7 and the little girl was 3 or 4 as he has grandkids that age. The little boy asked him (in perfect English) what he had in the bag. He replied that it was part of his finger in a ziplock back with ice cubes, bloody water and the piece of his finger that he was hoping the docs could put back on. The boy turned to his mom and spoke in Spanish and both moms and kids got up and left. He said that it must not have been an emergency for them. He was seen right away. For me, this is a perfect example of the abuse of a good system. Now, back on topic! P.S. Why is this thread so wide or is it just my screen as I have to scroll left and right to view text?

Tort reform
Yep, until you solve some of the large problems facing our healthcare system like this one, anything congress tries to do will be worthless. It may delay a problem or hide a problem for awhile, but it will not fix a problem.Originally posted by AndyKunz View PostAre you suggesting that a better fix might be tort reform?!
How would we get all those lawyers in Congress to propose and vote for that? They'd all be disbarred in their home states as traitors!

I maintain you can not give anything away for free! If it is free, a certain percentage of the population will abuse it as it has no value to them. This applies from safety glasses at work to healthcare. If I make them pay a buck for each pair of safety glasses, they stop losing them, setting them down or leaving them in thier cars. If they are supplied free, my use goes up dramitically because they have no value to them then.
You can subsidize it, but make it cost EVERYBODY at least something. That way they think before using it. Oh-well, end of my rant!
That is a big bill for sure. It is items like this that makes me look at my children and family and feel extremely blessed for the insignificant problems we are having.
Thank you for sharing,
Brian

This came up before, At that time I downloaded HR 2600. I looked at each page that this video quoted or should I say, misquoted. HR 2600 was not a good bill and it was bloated with rhetoric and issues that should have addressed in separate bills. But then again, there was plenty of misrepresentations, misquotations, and utter nonsense that the apathetics would drum up...death panels...pleeese...Oh wait, that was used back in the days of Harry Truman...Originally posted by Dr. Jet View PostGovernment Moto:

Now there's a candidate I can support. Where do I go to vote for him? The Republicans would have been a whole lot better running him in the last election rather than that tired old glue horse (and RINO) John McShame.Originally posted by AndyKunz View PostA nation of sheep breeds a government of wolves
