Another bad management decision. GM took all that bail-out money so that americans can keep their jobs. And yet, they keep shutting down brand names. In the '50's, '60's and '70's GM always adapted. After that, alot of really bad management decisions were being made. Like the one to make interiors as bland as unflavored yogurt.Government Moto:

Imagine all these companies and banks making bad biz decisions and getting rewarded with bailouts. Bush, Clinton, Obama. All part of the machine.Steven Vaccaro

And Guess what? The biggest costs for GM and Ford...Healthcare. http://money.cnn.com/2007/01/26/news...tune/index.htmOriginally posted by RCprince View PostNow you coming over to our side and seeing it clearly Steve.

"Health care is the biggest chunk. GM (Charts), for instance spends $1,635 per vehicle on health care for active and retired workers in the U.S. Toyota (Charts) pays nothing for retired workers - it has very few - and only $215 for active ones."
That's right. These costs are killing American businesses. They should have started their own insurance company to cover their workers.Government Moto:

How about telling the union to screw and get your own health care. I have to! Health care isnt killing GM, crappy business decisions have. GM shot itself several times in each foot. Ford is still alive and kicking without a hand out. Now that GM already got my tax dollars in the form of a bailout, Ford will get my money next year when I buy a new truck.Originally posted by domwilson View PostAnd Guess what? I think you got it wrong...The Government is the Empire. Congress is the Imperial Senate and if things don't start improving, we'll suffer the same fate as Tatoine. It's scary that I know these things....Originally posted by Steven Vaccaro View PostNo, I wont do it, I wont join the dark side

Agreed. GM made some really bad decisions. This being one of them... http://www.faqs.org/abstracts/News-o...t-spreads.html In the 80's and 90's when they saw the writing on the wall and did not address cost and quality issues. They just continued on. It's like they were stuck on stupid.Originally posted by Steven Vaccaro View PostHow about telling the union to screw and get your own health care. I have to!
