Who set the kitchen on fire?Originally posted by wirenut67 View PostNo but can we find some ridiculous way to blame the Bush issues on that previous administration? Of course.
Its time to stop passing the buck. period.

You're right. We shouldn't look for someone to blame. I got tired of that when the Bush administration kept blaming Clinton even into his second term. Obama did inherit alot of problems. I will give that to one side. He hasn't fixed a whole lot. I'll give that to the other side. He's in the middle of a bunch of money junkies. It's only been 7 months. He is only one man dealing with a seemingly endless sea of idiots. He is under intense scrutiny from varous special interest groups. Too many people look at him as some sort of Messiah. Yes too many people. The ones who keep hoping that he will do everything overnight and the ones who keep attacking him because he hasn't done everything overnight. If people want to personally do something for this country. Try being nicer to each other. Try being fair. Try having a little compassion. Try helping your fellow american. Try getting back to an America where bad behavior is not rewarded, but held in contempt. Crooks aren't admired, but are punished. Where we take pride in the goods and services produced here. Where we once held each and every citizen accountable for upholding american values and traditions. Where people who had money, earned it. Not by underhanded business practices. Where a job wasn't your life. Employers didn't intrude into your personal life. Where you knew your neighbors and could trust them.Government Moto:

I was just remembering from my childhood how it was in the 60's and 70's.Originally posted by wirenut67 View PostI just picked a random old president out of the hat....might well have said Washington.
Man you hit the nail on the head there Brother! What if...America was actually like it was intended to be.....
If you wanted anything of quality, It had to say "Made In U.S.A" on it. It was engineered here and manufactured here. You worked an 8 hour job and had some security at it. Health insurance wasn't even considered a benefit. It was part of the compensation package. A whole lot more community events. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Brownies, Cub Scouts, Eagle Scouts were big when I was young. After school Events. Patrol Boys and Girls. Pop Warner, Little League. We had more time to pursue living. We spoke only one language. http://www.usenglish.org/inc/about/hayakawa.aspGovernment Moto:

Well Andy, be that as it may, that was sort of what the Civil War was all about. The North won and the Union was preserved.
And the argument of States Rights versus a strong central Federal government goes all the way back to the start. Jefferson and Adams were bitter adversaries for many years due to it.
It is sort of amusing that today conservatives seem to apply a sort of situational support filter to the argument. They are clearly for states rights until a state does something they do not like, then they are all about strong Federal interventions (defense of marriage act, etc.).
Oh, but when the Federal government acts against their wishes, then it is all about states rights again, i.e. abortion and gun control laws.Don't get me started
