Going that fast on a hull that small will give you straight lines only... you will not be
able to turn... also, you may wanna consider a bigger hull if you really wanna use 6s or 5s... there is a lot of weight that will be traveling and it actually may not even fit inside.
it wold be a nice idea to work the sponsons and place an air dam so you can stay in the water right side up. OR you can use 4s1p

    Just a thought....

Start with a X437 prop on 4s. Hope the hull will handle it? Make sure it is water tight, may end upside down. You may go in shock when you see it run.

4S will be more than impressive. Try to shoot for 30~35K rpm at the prop. 54K will give you nothing but headaches.

    Prop Guesses

If I stepped down from 6s to 5s with the 1D motor (53,600RPM), would any of the following props work well?: X440/3, X642, P741/4, V940/3, V942/3, 1.6/3? If not, what props would work well with a 1521/1D 5s setup?

1521 1D (2900 Kv) will be destroyed on 6S. That's about 65,000 rpm unloaded at this voltage, the magnets will fly off. You should not run more than 4S LiPo. Castle 240HV is overkill. Regular 240 will do fine on 6S.

25" is 1/12 scale boat. That's like my Miss Llumar RTR Hydro. The hull is not made for this kind of power. It will be too heavy and will crash from too much speed.

If you still want to proceed with this ridiculous setup, try Octura X437 balanced and sharpened. Buy one already balanced.

Please post video of your first (and only) run. I would love to see it.

that setup will probably be balisitc why 6s in such a small boat 4s would probably work great

    6s Lipo on a 25" boat is crazy. Start with a Octura 35mm or 36mm I guess.

started a topic Scale Hydro Prop Recommendations

    Scale Hydro Prop Recommendations

I've got a 25in. scale hydro with a Neu 1521/1D and Castle Hydra 240HV running on 6s lipo and am wondering what prop(s) to go with for such a hot setup on such a light boat. I have just finished puting together this project and have not yet run the boat so I have no Idea what prop(s) to run with. Any info anyone could give would be a big help!
