Sea King 180 esc Timing ? with Leopard 4082 2000kv motor

Hey guys, would the Leo 4082/2200kv run the same timing? Or is it a different wind from the 2000kv?

I don't yet understand the wind differences.

Ok I'm going to need some expert advice? I got the hobby wing program card to work with my hobbywing seaking 180 esc. My question is I plan on running two 3s packs for a total of 6s. On the card(programmer) if I'm reading this right it says (3) 3cells [ 6cells] is that the correct setting I want to put it on? Or do I put it on (6) 6cells [12cells] ? To my understanding it should be the first choice because I read it as your using 3cell equaling [6cells] is that correct? If anyone is really good at this maybe GSR I could use the help thank you please pm me. Oh also my only choice is as follows for timming 0.00, 3.75, 7.50, 11.25, 15.00, 28.75, 22.60, and 26.25? Can anyone explain what exactly the timing does and how it works out an article on it to read would be great?

You want it on 6 (12). That is for 6s. The 12 is for a HV esc

I hate to thread jack but I have a 4074 2000kv. What would my target timing be?

Yes 3,25 is right for this motor and no issues with the wiredrive but be sure to not have it straight...you will need a soft bend to have it working correctly.Gill

With 6s on that motor, in a spartan.. That's a smelly boat right there.

Yes appologies I looked up D wind but for some reason had y in my head when I typed. So yes low timing as said.

That is a D wind motor so 10-15degrees timing.

That is timing for a Y wind, it would probably smoke the esc with that much.
This is a D wind, which requires low timing. I have the same combo in one of my boats and run 3.25 degrees, on 5s. IMO 6s is way too much for that motor and you are very likely to smoke something if you run longer than a minute.

Hey everyone as you know I am getting into this hobby very quick as I come from a RC Car high banked oval pro mod class. I am just learning about the brushless motors as we used to run only brushed. My question is this I have a Traxxas Spartan ver. 2 that I just picked up the Leopard 4082 2000kv motor and I have a Sea King 180a esc that am putting it with running on 6S 5000mah 45-65c, I have a portable esc programmer and I need to know what timing should I start out with as I really don't know where to begin with this? Any help would be great. If the prop size is needed please let me know and I will address then. Also what size would you all recommend I use for a prop???Just as another FYI I am going t be removing the stock drive strut and installing a Speed Master Drive strut with a .078to a 3/16 Piano wire drive if that plays a factor or not there it is all my cards laid out on the table.. Please any good advice is greatly appreciated.
