Motley Crew, hands down when compared to the Spartan. If you replace the stock flex with an OSE replacement flex on the MC, you're ready to rock and roll. The electronics are good, hull handles well is pretty dang quick on 4S with just a prop change.

Willl we ever get an RTR that has no "adjustments". I think the original SV came pretty close. All the hardware worked and it pretty much had no defects that required any hardware or drive replacements etc. Of course, it did roll over pretty easy at full speed...

Just ramblin' Seems like the Mystic might be the ticket since it will address the rudder issue and as long as the drive shaft is good it could be the boat....

Stay far away from the Spartan, use the search feature here and see what problems people have been having.
ALthough I don't like the looks of it the Motley Crew has been doing a bit better, some drive shaft issues with it.
The Gieco by reports runs better if you replace the rudder.
The SV27 has issues with the hull cracking along the hull/deck joint at the transom.
Probably about the best one at this point is the 32" Pursuit mono from Kinetec racing with the 4074 leopard motor and upgraded 1 piece drive shaft.
Non of the Ready to Run boats are really RTR. They all need a bit of going over, making sure everything is tight and lubed, with no binding anywhere. Some need parts replaced right out of the box.
A used boat from the Swapshop here is a good way of getting a quality boat for about half price, usually any problems have been solved by the original owner.

I definitly got one ....i've got gasser's ,,,electrics.......A nice first boat would be the Geico by proboat,,,very well built and easy to run and fast.....buy a couple of 2s nano tecs from hobbyking and your rippin,,,,call up Steve and order the Geico...you wont be dissapointed...also its easy to up grade later down the road

Lookin for a decent first boat for my brother and contemplating these two options as the price point is very close. Any suggestions?
