I think it's pretty cool for a RTR...46mph?!? Fuuunnn!!!
I'd think about it if I were into Cats...I'd maybe be more into Cats if we ran them in PSFEMBC, but we don't and that's okay.
$599 is a big number, but consider this: would you put a 46mph out-of-the-box RTR in just anyone's hands?
Lot's of folks that I've seen drive SV's should stick to that sub 40's level until they graduate to a near 50mph missile...it's a big 10-15mph step IMO. That being said, $599 will likely keep the noobs buying the lower priced Apache and Blackjack if they want a Cat and an SV if they want a Vee...and that seems probably about right dontcha think?
...just a theory on the pricing concept...
When entering the hobby/sport the $$$ amounts are always a bit shocking until you get a feel for the RC boating marketplace...Reliable ESC's $100-$275, motors $70-$300, Hull $70-$250, Hardware, etc...$600 for 46mph seems like a pretty decent deal to me, and the normal (but often costly) trial and error has already been accounted for by the producers.
Plus, considering the recent trend in bigger boats, I like what i see from Minicat and their small boats...good on ya Minicat!

[QUOTE=Steven Vaccaro;20928]Well if its compared to a AquaCraft or Proboat its more money. But why is it to much? Taylor how much would you charge me to build a A boat like that well with that kind of motor and and setup that much,' maybe if i ran a quality motor and hardware , etc.

With the $300 I would save, it would make the turning JUST FINE!! Were these intended for race or "play"??? In my expirence if you want good turning and speed, BUY a race hull!!

LOLOriginally posted by txboatpilot View PostI agree WAY To MUCH $$!!!! Trying to keep up w/ Toysport or what??? I just do not understand the prices that people are putting on these Hulls!!! IMO even the toysport "BMW" of R/C boats is WAY over priced!! H&M makes great hulls, you could put together a Drifter S for the same price or cheaper! And have better hardware, etc.. Just my thoughts..No offense to Mini cat or Toysport owners!
I personally think a Mercedes or Ferrari is to much money, but if i could afford to drive one I would be.
