You're gonna LOVE the M-1 on 7xl ; my Drifter on 8XL ran the SAW traps at 58.1, probably peaked @ over 60. I'll have a 7XL in it by tomorrow, BTW. It was Jim Vaughn's 700 SC M-1 that kicked my LSO but last month on 12 NIMH.

Todd, the boat looks great, and in the general scheme of things, $ 599 for a finished boat that's been pre-engineered isn't out of line.
I had a look at the bottom photo on the Minicat site,[check it out, folks] and it looked familiar ; check out the Drifter S bottom. The Drifter S hull is 620 mm, the Samurai hull is 690 mm with a bit more rear overhang. Hmmmm. Not a bad thing either ; with an 8XL on 4S the Drifter S does 58+ mph.

here's some data with a carbon 47mm prop. 13.84 low pack volts, 59.67 high amps, 840 watts. now this motor is good to 2000 watts and 85 amps per the specs. sheet on it if my math is correct that's over 2hp!

i will send you you some etree data sjfe ag nd i will do it with alot of different props to give you a broad spectrum of data. we are working on trying to get some bare hulls over here.

sounds like a good boat to buy for fun or if ur wanting to race..... i would def spend the money on a cat that acctually turns well lol...... i may look into these for next season

i like the shape of the hull the fact that it sits so low to the water keeps it planted at full throttle. the in-line drive and rudder makes it turn on a dime. that was something i had to get used to. all the other cats i've driven had the rudder on the side. steering is super responsive, and what can you say about the blue anodized hardware, it's beautiful and quality workmanship. the hull finish is top quality gel coat and what makes the hulls so light is the vacuum molding process they use. what is the term used to describe the side height of a boat gunnels??? freeboard????

Todd lets hear about some of its strong points. Hardware, finish of the hull and handling. i bet all better that some of the lower price rtr boats. Ten Shock builds the mini cat boats. Those guys are racers. They know their stuff.

No offense taken Todd, but remember when you get into the game of promoting an item, you need to learn how to take some punches and punch back when needed. A thin skinned person wont last to long in retail.

one thig i've learned over many years of r/c is that this is the wrong hobby to be in if you're trying to save money!!!!!!! i will always respect this site steve, you have alot of good advice to give i will just keep my opinions to myself from now on.
