A little painful to watch though. If I ever made a mistake selling a boat it was this one. I actually had to dive after it once to save it. Make sure you have lots of flotation! Glad you guys are having fun with it.

We've added a bunch of pool noodles to it. Still tweaking the weight balance on the flood chamber-- if it flips we need to blip the throttle a bit before it will competely turn over (need to adjust the lead weights a little further back I think). But so far so good. Made another video of my son running it today, got airborn a few times... I'll post that later in the video sub forum.

I've found 2 configs that are working well with the 1800KV motor-- 5S2P on a X442 prop, and also 4S2P on a X642 prop. I think the 5S2P config could take the X642 prop but that'll be too much speed for my son to handle...

I ran that same setup in my Rico for a while. It works good! Put a big prop on that sucker and let her rip!

Some of you may recognize this boat, as apparently I'm something like the 5th or 6th owner of this hull from this forum...

Anyway, I bought this late last year on the swap shop, but have been been busy with a bunch of stuff so it took a while to build her out.

Setup:
-Castle Creations 1518 1800KV motor (a beast!).
-CC Hydra 240A ESC
-5S2P 5000mah (so that's 10,000mah!).

The 5S2Ps are created with 2 sets of 3S1P + 2S1P wired in series, then each set run in // to the speed controller. The boat has a flood chamber so I like this config vs. 2 large 5S1P packs which would be difficult to place and have the boat self-right. You can see in the pics below how I have them arranged for the boat (the imaginary boat nose would be pointed to the right).

Hydra 240A ESC makes it handy to run a 2P config, as there are already 2 sets of leads for pos and neg (although you need to bridge these wires together to mix the power correctly).

Did a test run at the local pond, ran a little 442 prop, runs ROCK solid, probably mid 50's already...

Pulled the boat in after 2min, then after 5 more min, so 7min so far, everything is cool. I suspect I can hit 10min runtime with so much lipo capacity. After I nail down the runtimes, I'll try an X642 prop.

Will post some videos in a few weeks when we hit the larger lake.
