    My Df33 runs very well with CG 10 inches from the rear. My batteries are low in the hull and behind the motor. From looking at it I would guess that you might want to get the cg back towards the rear.

    yeh they are only 4250's too so they shouldn't be too heavy.. which is why I say run all 4 packs... two in front of motor and two long side...there isn't stringers or a BIG motor in the boat so the little extra weight of the packs will be a good thing....

    Thanks Guys keep the info coming it really helps. Been in RC a long time but all this is new to me.
    Use to be picking the right gearing was my biggest issue.

    And they say Helicopters are confusing. What is really interesting to me is 2 of these batteries in series will fly a 600 size helicopter for about 7 minutes.

    i ran the DF33 on a 13 xl and 6s for ages. it runs like a charm. the 13 xl on 6s realy is a good option if you whant to keep the amps lower.

    Jim your comparison is really apples and oranges. His is much a milder setup than yours with a lower amp draw. The Feigao will not draw near what the Neu will - but speed will be similar if he's wise on prop choice. For the same speed he'll draw 33% less amps than your Neu on 4S for about 70% of the run time you have.

    While personally I may not have done it the way the OP did, his is not an insane setup. Using the other two packs does make good sense, he'll probably need the weight anyway to keep the boat down.

    my worry with that is that you might get the CG to much in the front and that you need to strap those batteries down so they dont go all over the place.
    runtime should be 4-5 minutes on 4250.

    and you do need the cooling jacket. the mount it self dont cool anywere close to good enough.

    NUMBER ONE! Get rid of the Dean's plugs! You will literally melt the solder off of them. Go with 5.5mm gold bullet connectors. Be sure to put the FEMALE bullet on the POSITIVE side of the battery. This is the wiring convention we are all using. An easy way to remember is "Red Hot Female".

    I run 4S2P in my DF33 with a Neu 15151Y. Can't even imagine it on 6S. Hard enough to keep under control on 4S! I put my batteries in front of the motor, like you but they are two 4S packs in parallel. You're not gonna run long with 6S1P!

    Cable is .187

    Jumper Wire is 12g ESC wires are 10g could not find 10g another part to order.

    Not sure of the CG yet just did the install last night. Still in the set-up stage.

    In general it looks very good, just a few points:

    - The jumper wire between the packs looks smaller than the main power wires - a potential choke point. The shorter the power wires - motor and battery sides - the better.

    - The gap between the stuffing tube and coupler is a bit wide - what size cable are you using?

    - Where is the CG with this setup? You want to be able to adjust the CG between about 9 and 10.5 inches ahead of the transom. It may (or may not) work better with the ESC in front of the motor and the packs along the sides of the motor. With the ESC in front of the motor you can also use much shorter motor wires.

    - I'd stick to the x445 until you have proven it won't overheat the packs. It should give you around 50 mph if the hull is trimmed out properly.

    Order some bullets from steve here on ose....you'll have em' in a couple days... outstanding service...

    Also I myself run 4s2p in my df33.. I would try putting some straps on the 2 packs in front of the motor to hold the packs secure and then mount the esc on top of the packs while running.... then I would take you other set of 3s packs and put one on each side of the motor further back towards transom.... that way you will run all (4) of your packs as 6s2p and get 8500mah for longer runtime.... just what makes sense with what you have for packs already and the 6s will work well with your 13xl... good luck!

    Looks like you are set up for 6S, am I right? What running time are you expecting?
    If you keep it the way you have it now you may not get a lot of run time. Maybe upgrade to 4S2P or higher to get more time out of your lipos...
    Also, swich from deans to 5,5mm bullet connectors.
