Best set-up for a Pursuit Mono

Just got the red cooling tubing in and a nice leopard cooling jacket from ebay. I don't think I will be using the motor mount cooling system. Doesn't make that big of a difference anyway. The jacket I have seems really nice, hopefully it works as well as it looks.

Diesel - since it's ready to go now, get it wet! You're more than likely gonna see what the 1518 does in it eventually, so you have to run 'em both anyway. My guess is the 2200kv is gonna run well.

So it seems like the a lot of people are running the leopard 2200 in their df33 copy or pursuits, I'm really thinking of changing over to the cc1518 I just got. I'm confused on what I should do. I haven't even stuck the boat in the water yet and maybe on a second motor change lol.

I have the leopard in mine (2200kv) with the 180amp esc spinning a X442 on 4s. The boat is ballistic & seems to always draw a crowed when i run it.

The older setup i was running was good for general running....now I have to keep my wits about me when I drive it, a lot of fun.

Id of thought the Leopard 2200 kv is to much for 6s but ideal for 4s where as the 1800kv was better suited to 5s possibly pushing to 6s for shorter runs.

Im not running 6s on a leopard 2200kv, WAY to much kv. I will be running 2 4s lipos in parallel. If I do switch to the 1518 it would also be 4s or maybe even 5s for some fun.

I'd try m445 1st, seems x6 series of props drain battery faster. I get better runtime on x442 then on x640... and more fun :)

thats because the boat likes the extra blade area of the 442, 445, it planes the hull better. I would bet that you could go up even more prop on that Leopard 4074 try a 447 for a test.

This Hull runs like a wet dream At first with the X445 plastic it ran warm-hot Motor only everything else was cold including ESC & batts, this is with an outrunner as mentioned above so only a water cooled mount.

Next I went to the 40/53 prop & everything ran even colder & motor was just warm, this was with a good 6-7 minute run.

Speed wise pretty good considering it is only a 1800kv 35mm motor...I love 6 pole motors. I did not run a GPS (don't have one) but I would say it was running early-mid 40's at a guess.

I did not have to adjust trim tabs, stinger etc, the only thing that I did different from stock is make up some ply for each of the 2s packs which sit either side of the factory battery tray & around 60-70mm back. The 180a ESC sits right at the back of the factory battery tray, CG is at 250mm from the stern. It was quite windy today & the boat handled very well & turns like it's on rails.
